I had three cans of Kronenburg yesterday, I felt transported back 20 years to when I used to cane the stuff for fun. Often at seven am having not slept from the night before!!
Ahhh, to be a clubber again.

Tesco ****ed up our order and sent cans instead of bottles, it definitely tastes different. The cans have Eric on them though so that's ok.

I'm not fussed on the UK stuff but do like the French Kronenbourg.

No it's the blue label 1664, they do a red one as well though which isn't as strong but also very nice.

I don't drink the 1664 over there, just the red.

    Partial to a Pelforth too.

Pelforth Brun is very nice, the 1664 is a touch on the strong side I like it but in moderation the red label is good if your having a few.

**** sake, it's some ****s birthday. Just went up top our main office to be confronted by a sea of cakes in the kitchen.

Egg custard and a Welsh cake at 11.30am, not good.

Monday is go nuts day for me, I'm usually a little hung over and will eat anything that's on offer. I'll be good for the rest of the week then.

I hate that.. It's the stack of Tescos chocolate flapjacks and other similar see-through plastic boxed fat-filled cakes that are a crime.

There are still three full bags of donuts sitting there and a box of apple pies!! Who the **** eats Tesco donuts?

I'd rather talk about beer again.

Had this conversation via Whatsapp yesterday; Moretti or Peroni?

I used to be firmly in the Peroni camp but am now a fully paid up defector over to Moretti.

I love an ice cold Singha as my summer lager of choice though.

Peroni for me. Love the stuff. Drink it like water at times!

    I used to prefer it.

I think what swayed me was when it came out on draught and tasted **** all like the proper bottled stuff and is probably brewed in some giant shed near Newport like the rest of them. Yet is at least £4.50 a pint.

Still love the bottled stuff of course but tend to default towards the Moretti more now.

Both are great when properly cold.

To be totally honest I don't even know if I've tried Moretti, I'll be sure to keep an eye out for it though <ok>

The trouble is I'm generally a staunch Stella drinker and rarely bother swerving, I have a shop near me that imports the original Stella before it got watered down to 5.0%. The original stuff is lovely and just right for me.

I do hit the bottled Peroni if I'm not able to go to the local shop, or if I'm generally out and about.

I get stuck in my ways tbh. I've tried too many lagers that taste like water for my liking so tend to stick with what I like.

Although I had a nice little blast from the past the other day and bought some bottles of Staropramen. Used to drink that by the shed loads when I was a teen!

I was a canned Stella or Kronenburg type chap when young.

Went off it quite quickly and onto ales and that's my default but do like the european lagers. And Asian as it goes. American lagers are piss but they do a good ipa and ale nowadays.

Estrella and San Miguel are both lovely in their natural habitat, as are the French ones. In fact, they all are as long they they aren't 'brewed under licence' in this country and effectively ruined.

Brooklyn Lager is lovely but it is more of an IPA regardless of it being called lager.

Brew Dog stuff is nice but stupid expensive, £6.50 in ASDA for 4 stumpy cans!!!

I'm also quite lucky that the father in law is a top homebrewer, I told him to try bottle finishing many years back and he liked the idea and gave it a go so he does batches of different ales and lagers and brings me some bottles now and then.
