You'd think he would have aborted mission as soon as he stumbled but must have thought he could have salvaged the situation

I'm not surprised he missed. I'm only surprised he didnt just collapse onto the ball through shear exhaustion!

He must have ran about 2 miles in 6 yards just then!

A Mr Sorensen once saved one at Sid James' Park. I found that one most entertaining.

Under the heading of 'most entertaining', Len Shackleton is reported to have back-healed one or two, past the Keeper.

Must confess I never saw this trick from him BUT it's on his Wiki entry, so it must be true.:emoticon-0178-rock:

I am tempted not to look any further than this one. Everything contained in it but I bet the goalie got a roasting. Bloody Jarmans even score comedy penalties.

Never saw him back heel one but he did get a few by changing feet at last second. In one game he ran up stopped dead and waited for the keeper to get up then scored from a standing start. Mind it was a friendly but nonetheless he was capable of doing it any time.

I think I saw a video of one where eric cantona sends the gk the wrong way but he hits it so softly the gk gets back up and saves it.
