Longest ****ing transfer saga in history. We could have signed Le Fondre for 250,000 young and hungry
QPR agree terms with Campbell qpr 02/08/2011 by David McIntyre QPR have agreed personal terms with Blackpool striker DJ Campbell. Campbell, who is now set to undergo a medical, has a clause in his Blackpool contract allowing him to leave the relegated club for £1.25m. Born in Hammersmith, Campbell was on the books at QPR and Aston Villa as a youngster but failed to make the grade. He drifted down to non-League level but, in 2005, came to prominence while playing for a Yeading side that took on Newcastle at Loftus Road in an FA Cup tie. Later that year he joined Brentford, where his performances earned him a move to the Premiership with Birmingham. He struggled to establish himself at St Andrews, and also endured an unhappy spell at Leicester. But after helping Blackpool win a shock promotion while on loan with the Tangerines, he signed for them for £1.25m in August 2010 and seized his second chance in the top flight, scoring 13 goals last season. http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-agree-terms-with-campbell/
Still waiting for confirmation on the offish, but that's a great signing. the "good big-un" and "quick little-un" combination has always worked well wherever and whoever used it, and I'm looking forward to the Bothroyd / Campbell combination - especially with the number of chances we are capabe of producing. Not sure where it leaves the formation though. Maybe 4-3-1-2 with Adel at the point of the diamond? Or 4-2-3-1, with DJ out wide and cutting in?
Just a thought it is well known that DJ wants to get in the england squad whose to say that him and JB scoring lots of goals plus the exposure we will have this season of them getting a call up together ? i think this is a srewd signing because we can play 2 up front away from home or 1 up top and dj playing off the big man. plus also a front 3 when we are at home cant see teams coping with us this year at loftus rd , might sound daft but there is no other team with a ground like ours in this division and when pompey went up they gained lots of points through the season that i feel was down to there ground........ I also believe if warnock can get some dead wood out on loan or off the books another signing in the forward departmemt plus back up for derry and a full back and we will easilllllllllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy stay up COME ON URSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
@QPRGoddard Robbo We love you DJ coz you've got gold teeth, We love you DJ, John Terry's mum's a thief, We love you DJ coz you're Rangers through & through...
Ironic that the two prem clubs chasing DJC are the clubs that trialled and released him as a youth! What's goes around comes around.
So we have a squad equal in quality to 94/95 with Sir Les, Sinclair etc who finished 8th? Dave son, the rabbits have gone back into their burrows.
Not equatable Swords the two time zones cannot be mixed my timelord friend .. its bear nothing ... having the insight, time and a good mental team behind me I have come to the conclusion that we can only deal with the NOW and only wish for with good energy good things for the future. I watched 94/95 most weeks but did they compare to Dave days in 75? it means nothing either way. I believe still we have a lot of goals in us: and thats the key and if we add Puncheon/Onuoha which i reckon we could a 94/95 season to surprise us all
