Well another player bites the dust looks like he prefers a move to Ipswich.......

Clearly we are not looking as attractive as we all think.....

    So where will it end...

Im sure we are still looking at loans but so are everyone else and we seem to struggle to attract the quality we need.....

I hope we get the LB we need and maybe a striker on a short term deal to give us cover for Becchio and Somma - 3 month should cut it for Becchio to get back to top condition.

    4 days to go.....:emoticon-0107-sweat

People are saying 3 weeks for Becchio... And have you considered Ipswich are offering a guaranteed starting place but given how well Clayton, Brown, Howson and Nunez have all performed in pre-season we can't?

I'm not too worried. Certainly dont think he is worth the rumoured 15k PW & would rather see Clayton getting a run, he has looked sharp.

If we are going to reinvest the casper money (dont hold your breath!) its surely got to go on a LB/CB & a loan striker maybe ?

Spanish I think He probably realises we have a good first team already and hes only going to be back up , and he probably saw the Bannan Saga of last year

It certainly can't be about wages, as he's being paid exactly the same wherever he goes, and if he turned us down it suggests we were willing to meet what Blackburn wanted.

If we get an injury to any of Brown, Howson or Clayton, the only successful formation (4-2-3-1) will be screwed. We need at least one central midfielder to come in; hopefully along with a utility player who can play in either defence or up front too.

Well Nunez could take Howson's position and Howson would then move back, or Thompson/ one of the Turner twins could have a go. I also think we need a CM for competition, just saying the formation wouldn't be buggered.

Howson and Clayton have been quiet in pre season tbh, as has Brown. Theyve been ok at best. They did play well agaisnt Newcastle reserves, Nunez Has been excellent

Howson doesn't work in the deeper '2', he simply reverts to the anonymous one-good-game-in-five player he used to be. Not sure Thompson or the Turners are anywhere near top-end League Two standard, let alone Championship. It really is crucial that we have more depth in this most vital of areas.

Howson was MotM by a mile against Newcastle and many people are saying Clayton has been our best player in pre-season despite Nunez putting in some eye-catching performances. Reports also seem to suggest Brown is exactly what we were missing last year. I see Nunez' role this season being similar to Gradel's in League 1, coming on to make an impact and change games that are going against us or that have gone stale, and I think he'll perform that role very well.

Apparently we were Andrews' first choice but his agent thought he could get more £££ elsewhere.

Lads don't stress about this fool. If you were a squad player (any team) and rarely played then gaurenteed 1st team place is what I would demand! This would be even more so considering that you were dropping to a lower standard. It may have been about money but I reckon that Andrews looked at our midfield and Ipswich and felt he's more chance of a start there and this may have been gaurenteed.

Remember when in league 1 Grayson gaurenteed a starting place to the lads who joined us on loan but he didn't last year hence Bannan did 1. Andrews basically wants to play every week and is too weak to fight for a place at Leeds.

Just to slightly contradict myself and throw in the proverbial spanner but...

Is the issue charisma? The lack of!! Not sure if Grayson sell is as good as Jewell etc. Grayson is a straight laced kind of guy not a salesman so maybe that played a small role?! Obviously this is pure conjecture and we can all speculate but 1 fact remains..

    We all love Leeds!!!

Could it be anything to do with the ambition Ipswich are showing in their new signings? As a midfielder, to think you would be supplying the likes of Chopra and Emanual-Thomas must be quite appealing.

They're not exactly Gradel, Howson, Becchio and Snodgrass, are they? Andrews also spoke with Gwyn Williams who you'd have thought would be more of the 'salesman' type. It will have either been an issue of Andrews not wanting to compete with the newly-emerged Clayton or (more likely) one of finance. You don't turn down Leeds to play for Ipswich if both clubs have made the same offer of first-team football and put a similar wage packet on the table. It seems Ipswich have played it risky by promising Andrews a starting place every game as well as risking their season on the Stockdale 24-hour recall clause which Fulham were insisting on. Or perhaps, again, they've just offered more money. I guess us ignoramuses will never know.

Your speculation about money may be true but nobody is guaranteed a starting place at ITFC.

Simply put, we're a better proposition for promotion this season.

You're weaker than last year and the second season syndrome may be a factor.

No we're not, we're stronger than last year. If you can find any way we're weaker I'll tell you why you're wrong <ok>.
