I think you underestimate the players already at the club, they can be much, much better than they have been allowed to be so far.
I don't under estimate, just hope your guys under perform you have a decent defense & midfield. promising attacking line up. With Jose and 1 or 2 titles you can go head to head with Pep & City.
that will be a shame, even more with the number quoted but wouldn't mind if it is Matic + Cash for Pogba
More likely they're looking to get cover for Pogba going to Man Utd or Real Madrid by getting Matic in... Either scenario you lose <whsitle> Obviously nothing concrete yet though.
Why shouldn't that be to Chelsea?? We cannot match the obscene money Manu or Real going to throw. But we have Conte & can trade Matic in. So I will not rule out or I will continue to hope
my logical argument is - If Pogba fancies Jose, he will definitely fancy Conte We cannot give him CL footy, He would rather not play in Europa league either We can match the 70M pounds, especially if we can use Matic as makeshift. Manchester or London - that is too difficult isn't it?
I think his response will miss the point that Chelsea are a nothing club that most in the world hadn't heard of before Abramovich came along, and which lacks any prestige now the advantage of their £££ no longer exists.
1 Why? 2 Why? 3 You would still be £30m short and have to pay wages 4 Who in their right mind would live in London by choice?
Because winning three trophies in 10 years is the same as winning 18 trophies in 16 years. Because the EL was only worth winning the one year Chelsea won it. La la la can't hear you la la la.... See #3 Seriously tho', Chelsea are obviously much more attractive now than when Pogba snubbed them last summer. Much less fixture congestion for one thing
BBC just reported that the move is not imminent. However, every other media outlet is reporting £102m deal has been struck in principal. Both news are fresh off the grill.
Other media outlets reporting that price and terms have been agreed in principle, but full details to be sorted next week. So both stories are consistent - the move is in progress but unlikely to be fully completed for at least a few days, possibly a week or so. Or could all be BS, who knows...
It would be interesting to know how much personal involvement Woodward has in this deal, and how much is driven by Mourinho. Call me a cynic but I can't help feeling it's another fiasco just because it's Woodward. It's just to be expected.
I don't think Woodward himself has been terrible with transfers. The whole Pedro thing turned out to be false as Woodward was out there for Neymar, which turned out to be a waste of time. If I could point a finger at him, it would be that he seems hell bent on signing superstars. Perhaps he's looking to get a transfer for himself to Real.
