Clearly you are easily excited if you have seen something that was better than watching paint dry in the last three performances by Portugal. At least the Wales game did not go to extra time so the rest of us were spared half an hour.

This tournament has largely been a disappointment with virtually all the big name players failing to show up; but normal service will be resumed once they are back at their clubs with their five- and six-figure weekly salaries. I thought sport was supposed to be a form of entertainment but international football must be exempt. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

    France 3-2 Portugal

Hopefully it'll be a goal fest but probably turn out to be 0-0 and pens. Hope France win as I win my work competition and £100 if they do

More with reference to the aftermath of the tournament; Jurgen Klinsmann now down to 6/4 to become next manager. My mum, if she was well, would be going f....n' bammy as she adores her wee Jurgen!!!!!!

I'm not against having a foreign coach as next England manager but surely not a German that's just wrong! Love Klinsman, was a great player and is a very capable manager but a German in charge of England just shouldn't happen

I do not think the 'major' football nations with 'major' leagues should have foreign managers/coaches. To take it to the extreme would Germany ever choose an English or Dutch coach; more chance of me buying a CD by Take That or One Direction!

There are 'suitable' and experienced English coaches available however pride and stubbornness (Hoddle - Redknapp) plus outright snobbery (Allardyce - Howe) seems to stop them making such an appointment.

When Klinsmann was German manager for the 2006 World Cup, the current manager was his assistant. Joachim Löw was the brains of the outfit, Klinsmann was just the motivator. So England will not be hiring him if they want to win anything.

I will concede to karlos already – well played that man.

He has Payet as his midfielder and he has France to win 3-0 as his correct score, so a French win wraps it up. Even if Payet does not score, I can only pick up six points on him with a French defeat because I had them as runners up. I would need a correct score Portugal win with Payet not scoring for France to overhaul him.

Gotta agree; he was a f....n' disaster as coach of FC Bayern. Lasted about a year if I remember correctly. The boys (Rummenigge and Hoeness) soon realised he was not up to it and booted him oot!

I could still nick with a France win and the correct score but not if QM goes for the same score as me.
Fun comp and cannot believe I am in with a shout. Karlos has played a blinder and deserves to be victorious.
    Fab comp Ste.

Great comp Ste and well run. Sorry I didn't take part but I have been having terrible internet problems for some time and wouldn't have been able to keep up. They came and sorted things out properly on Thursday (after 3 previous attempts) and no problems since. Just as we had been offered an amazing contract with Free.

Looking at the football results I can see I would have been in an unassailable lead with France to win the final 2-1 <laugh>

Oh my God, BK, I am not happy about this at all. Klinsmann is a phony IMHO, regardless of his passion, which is pure screen acting stuff. When he was manager of Deutschland in 2006 it was his assistant Löw who did all the real work and came up with the tactics and ideas. Klinsmann just danced around like Nijinsky on the touchline most of the time. OK, Germany got bounced by Italy in the semi-final but still played a good tournament, thanks to Joggi Löw. Klinsmann's command of English is faultless, and this might be influencing the F.A. too much. They must look deeper into this man's record. The way he dumped the Tottenham club, and its fans, when a player, just because he received a phone call from Der Kaiser, has always grated on me. Then, with Bayern Munich, he acted like a great big baby at times, kicking the centre-post once because trainer Trapattoni pulled him off.

    End of rant!

Yes, great competition, STE, well done <applause> Did not take part because just one winner is quite beyond me, and to forecast countless games is well, just impossible for this one!

Will go against the grain totally: France 1 - Portugal 3. <whistle>
