My american cousin got engaged a few days ago and invited the family over to the states next summer for her wedding in Boston. Haven't been in a few years and was wanting to take in a few places on the East Coast too. Was thinking New York & maybe Cape Cod or somewhere like that. Like the look of Martha's Vineyard. Any other suggestions?
I did a driving holiday around pretty much the whole of new England a fwe years back. Probably the best holiday I've ever had. We started in Boston, which was great, but I wouldn't spend more than a few days there as you can pretty much do the whole place in that time. Probably better spending a bit more time in NY. Then we hired a big ****-off 4x4 and went to Maine, Vermont, new Hampshire, Conneticut, Rhode Island and back to Boston. Cape Cod and Marthas Vineyard are definetly worth a visit. It depends how boring you want me to be but I could give you some more details of what we did and where we stayed if you like. Probably best I PM you though knowing what the ****s on here are like.
Cheers mate. I've been to Cape Cod, Boston and Marthas Vineyard before about 15 years ago or so. Preferably only wanna spend a few days in Boston. Never been to NYC so wanna get that in. Got another cousin in New Hampshire so that too could be on the cards. How long did you do that in? I was thinking maybe a 3 or 4 week holiday.
We did that all in 2 weeks but it was pretty much constant driving apart from stopping a couple of days in each state. It was still great as we weren't exactly out partying with the wife being pregnant. If I did all that again I would take 3 or 4 weeks. I reckon if you can get 3-4 weeks and not travel as much as we did that would be perfect. I only spent 3 or 4 days in NY on a previous holiday but I reckon I could've spent weeks there. I would definitely spend as much time (at least a week) there and then the rest of the time elsewhere.
New York's ****e. Plastic city where quality is measured in size and not substance, the people eother want to tell you to **** off or tell you their entire life history and the food is utterly disgusting. The only good thing about is you get the opportunity to spit on john lennon's memorial in central Park.
Maybe they thoguht you were a gormless half wit exactlyu like them which is why they took to you so well. Who knows.
Jip Jap, both characters are from Rhone Island. A week in New York sounds the ticket. Always wanted to go there. I remember the last time we were in Massachusetts it was really, really warm. Think they usually get decent summers on the east coast.
My brother lives in Boston and has a house in Cape Cod, definately worth going, especially Cape Cod...Boston isn't as interesting a city as New York, i have to say new york is one of my favourite places in the world and is also a must go
