na my cousin just lives in Lambourn, so gets quite a lot of info now and again, and has a lot of friends that own horses, mostly with Clive Cox, also his dad (my uncle) is very good friends and went to school with Graham Mash (Dean Ivory's head lad)
Well done Limato. Lovely horse. Backed him at Longchamp last year and ran an amazing race. Worth following I think.
Its great to see C4 finally realising racing doesnt start at 3pm and stop at 4pm on a saturday. First Saturday in months Ive been able to chill and watch the racing!
Next time that my horse is running on TV and is the same price with Ladbrokes, William Hill, Coral and Bet Fred, I must remember to go back to Coral to put my bet on. They were giving money back as a free bet on horses that were second in televised races, so I would have got a free bet out of Easton Angel being done on the line. Cannot help but feel that the rain softened ground cost her the race as she travelled well and just got mugged by Marsha. Channel 4 moved their racing coverage because of the British Formula 1 Grand Prix at Silverstone. Do not expect them to show ten races over three hours again next week.
I see red cat has posted this one in a treble and it looks a dead cert if I can say that and it goes at Beverley in the 645 RIO DEVA not really that interested in the 11/10 on offer though but I am interested in the forecast with tarnend lass
After Gershwin's agonising 2nd I did an Inclination (Salisbury) and Rio Deva 7/1 double so fingers crossed
Pulled Squire out about 20 mins before I got to the track. He is in at Epsom on Thursday and whilst we fancied him today we thought it best to wait for his ground. Attivo mate, really sorry but I got stuck in traffic and only got there at 1.50. I did look for you but no joy. Totally messed around by the course execs today as they even pulled our lunch passes as we were a non runner. I wonder if they will refund our entry fee!
No worries mate, I was late arriving myself as the train was delayed an hour. The course execs at Chester are a bunch of tw*ts, I bought a 48 quid badge for 1/2 price off a tout outside the course after the first race, but was refused entry into "The County Concorse" (Members Enclosure) by "Homeland Security" because my 300 pound waterproof grey sports jacket did not pass the dress code criteria stipulated on the back of the pice of plastic sh1t that I had just purchased! DRESS CODE Gentlemen are required to wear a suit jacket, collar and tie. No denim or trainers. I offered to take the jacket off and carry it but was told "Gentlemen were not allowed to take their jackets off" My options were either to hire a suit jacket for 30 pounds from "The Watergate" a nearby pub, or enter the racecourse via the Tattersalls Enclosure. All's well that ends well. I spent the afternoon in Tatt's and managed to bag a couple of winners, including Squire's intended race at 7/1, to more than cover the days expenses. Good Luck at Epsom, hope he romps in & I'll meet you at HQ on Cambridgeshire day
Ive never been to Chester, I hear "Betfred" playing it down every time a meet is on. Stating you can bet at SP but they then take a 10% deduction from your winnings, you cant bet via the Tote etc etc Can anyone tell me: 1 - why are they allowed to do so 2- do they offer attractive terms to owners/trainers as it would appear they dont give anything back in the game 3- anything else youd care to mention about the course and way its managed! Cheers!!!
