Obviously. And the best players attract higher wages than the worst players. If you're spending more on wages than 9 other sides, you should hope to be able to compete with all 9 of them.
No, we should have been expecting to challenge for promotion because we had some of the best players in the division. The 2 things are not necessarily related. Was Falcao one of the best players in the country last year?
In your mind maybe, but in the real world the players and teams who play the best most often take the honours.
Again, obviously. That doesn't mean that buying better players shouldn't logically raise our expectations. And if we werent actually buying better players that's an even bigger indictment on Bruce.
They maybe are on 'Football Manager' or what ever the latest game the kids play instead of being outside actually kicking a ball about. But in real life things are a bit more complicated. You'll learn that the hard the way when you leave school.
Maybe drop the insults and actually answer the points I raised. You're seriously suggesting that hazard earns more than meyler for no reason to do with his skill level?
GTF. You've swerved around every point I've raised against your rubbishing of our managers achievements. Anyhow shouldn't you be tucked up in bed ? And how do you know what anyone earns ? When you join the real world you will quickly find that a persons salary no way reflects their ability.
Stop being a pissant, I haven't dodged around anything. It seems that we simultaneously have a manager who can pick good players for big wages but also a manager who hasn't underachieved despite a relegation and struggling to a play off final.
You don't struggle to a Play Off Final. You struggle to stay in the league but to reach a Play Off Final you have to play better and win more games then the other teams in your league over a full season. Hull City did that, reached the Final and won it in style. How is that struggling ?
You do struggle to a Play Off Final when we were first in January and dropped like a stone to a point where some seriously thought we could miss the Play Offs altogether, and then almost lose a SF despite being up 3-0 after the first leg by going down 2-0 inside 35 minutes in the second leg.
Dropped like a stone Makes you wonder how Brighton feel doesnt it. I'd go on the Man U forum, if were you, and tell them they fluked the treble. Bayern pissed all over them till those last few minutes. Hit the bar and everything. Lucky ****s them. Or got the ****ing job done. Just like Steve Bruce did.
They have struggled to the Final. They still got there though which is obviously going to please their fans, but during the tournament I suspect they'd have been disappointed that they couldn't win a game in the Group Stage and had to park the bus to get past Croatia. I'm still pleased we got promoted, that doesn't forgive all of Bruce's shortcomings though.
Your like a dog with a bone. Shall I just agree with you and say despite winning promotion to the Premier League Hull City are rubbish ? Also dropping from 1st to 4th in the league is hardly 'dropping like a stone' As for the Play Off Semi Final. If we had of lost 2-0 away to Derby and beat them 3-0 at home, you ( no I doubt it) most people would we saying what a great achievement it was. Why don't you just go and spend your time slagging another club off ?
Oh yeah, I'm sure there will be some daft **** in Lisbon fuming about tactics or team selections, but most normal people in Portugal will be buzzing about being in the final. Steve Bruce got us promoted. Objective achieved. End of chat. Any shortcomings are in the minds of the clueless turds who see themselves as 'deep thinkers of the Beautiful Game'.
Did you miss the part where I said "during the tournament" as in - at the time? Daft ****. I'm done with this discussion. No doubt the short sighted pricks will be moaning after a month when Bruce hasn't won a game, then singing from the rooftops when he wins a few, then moaning again. Some of us can see the forest for the trees.
