Easy done mate. I came within a whisker of failing my first year (back in 2006, God I feel old). She will come out better for it in the future and in her future studies. I took my first year for granted and showed up pissed to lessons far too often which was the cause of my near downfall. Knuckled down massively after that. She will too.
Congratulations Billy. Very proud day for both you and her. If she's the type who can laugh at herself she'll love Masters/PhD. They're research degrees and once you get there you begin to realise how bloody little you know! It's a bit humbling, but with the right attitude it's an absolute laugh. Good luck to the lass, mate - she's doubtless earned it and I wish her the very best for the future.
Hope so, mate. I too nearly flunked the first year due to sleeping through one course with the most tedious lecturer ever, bar none. I got 6% in the final, but got enough on other courses to get through! BTW my first year was 1980-81 so if you think you feel old...
Me and our lass will be travelling down to Stafordshire Uni next week to see my eldest lads graduation....I'm really looking forward to it..
Congrats to your daughter Billy, great achievement. As a dad of a daughter who also graduated, I know the pride you feel...a precious time for you.
Newcastle next Tuesday for me. Youngest daughter got her law degree. She got her brains off her mother. I've still got mine.
Brilliant that mate. Bloody kids man, they make you laugh and they make you cry. Sometimes both at the same time. Congrats to your daughter. Great stuff..
There's obviously a lot more to you than meets the eye, Billy. A job very well done. Congratulations to your daughter, mate. And to you, you raised her.
She will mate. Better she screws up the first year and learns this way rather than moving through the years and getting it wrong then. Just be supportive. I had shoes thrown at me when my first year nearly fail came through the post haha. Ha that does make me feel better. I'm just going through a weird stage where I don't want to get any older. Terrified of turning 30 next year
Well done to her Bill and congratulations all round. Just back of holidays and doing a slow catch up of good news items. One of the best.
Billy, has your lad got an older cousin or someone like that, that he looks up to and who can take him under his wing, if you get my drift?
