How do you know it's a 3 year deal?

 

I don't think anyone is panicking but it would be better surely to try to get people in as soon as we can so that the players can get a good preseason with us. We want a good start and everyone settled for our European campaign. As soon as Claude has sized up the players (not taking too long hopefully) Saints hopefully will start things rolling. I think people are impatient if anything - me included.

 

We need replacements for:
Mane, Wanyama, Davis/Stek, Juanmi & Pelle (probably).

Redmond in my eyes is not a replacement for any of the above, so we still need five new players. Plus I think we should also be looking at a RB and/or CB and a striker (if we keep Pelle I'd say we still need one!). That could mean a further eight extra signings.

 

Best guess based on the numbers

 

We need a right back, and probably a striker. A creative midfielder with goals in him would be nice (Chamberlain? Walcott?).

 

So you want them to say something... or say nothing ...

 

We don't need to replace Kelvin. That's nuts.

 

Some people come across as impatient. Some come across as panicking.

 

Signing players is like being on drugs....we need to do it regularly to keep calm. I'm not panicking though because we always go quiet, then suddenly sign a couple.

 

I said Kelvin/Stek. With them both gone we need another in as we only have two.

Suggestion that we are after a player who is already a target for West Ham. I don't know if he is any good, but please let us beat WHU to someone.

 

No not panicking or particularly impatient but I will say the season starts on August 13th. This means from this week it'll be one whole month of preparation before we kick off for real.

The club are definitely sending out signals that they will not be rushed and as we all know players agents drag their before committing to signing so are we looking at good replacements turning up days before the season starts or evening after the season starts?

If this comes to pass I'm not convinced this is the best way to start off the season.

This is all my personal uninformed conjecture.

 

I think we have more Puelling power than West Ham with this transfer. Would be a big improvement on Martina and Cedric IMO.

 

We all love our football club. We all pay to watch exciting players. It's natural to be impatient when other clubs around us are strengthening. I don't see it as being something worthy of derision or condescension....

 

Of course Les is sat in his office twiddling his thumbs and idly passing the time with the team from the black box room who are similarly doing nothing at all that could be construed as constructive. They are all probably drinking gallons of tea and playing cards to pass the time until the season starts. On the other hand someone might venture to tell us what they really think Les and his team are doing at this time.
