I thought he said we had our targets lined up and would go and watch any at the Euros...distancing himself from other clubs who might select players based solely on the Euros. I know he said we wanted to do things early....but Koeman leaving probably stymied that.

 

We are a lot weaker now than we were at the start of the window. I think that's why some people are feeling impatient for news.

 

I would have thought they would get on with the replacements we need because of sales, unless they think the youngsters are suddenly good enough.

 

Aside from the fact it is better to sign players early so they have more time to integrate, it doesn't actually make a difference if we sign them today or a week before the season starts. Have a little patience!

The Echo also said that Southampton were willing to wait until the beginning of July to appoint a manager, and Puel was announced two days later in June. So I wouldn't take what they say as gospel.

Some of you panic far too much.

These things are always a moving feast - there's so many imponderables involved. If they gave no message, the complaints would be even worse!

 

Graziano said to be close to a move to Shandong in China. Deal would be worth €40m and put him on wages in the region on £160,000 p/w.

 

To me its simple:
Out - Kelvin D, Stekkers, Mane, Big Vic, Juanmi and probably Pelle
In - Redman
We need a minimum of further five to replace those we have lost to stand still so adding another one or two will give us a stronger squad than last season. Failing that we will probably see a slide. Would prefer we take our time and get the majority of incoming players right rather than rushing head long into buying players here there and everywhere.....but my patience will wear short in a couple of weeks as the season and Europe draw closer

 

What's the transfer fee involved? I'd be disappointed if we sold to a Chinese club for under £15m.

 

But how much is the transfer fee? I really don't care how much he is going to earn I am only interested in our transfer fund...LOL

Well £160,000 per week is 188,000 euros...a 3 year deal would = 29.3m euros meaning a £9.3m fee
