There's zero contradiction between having a bid accepted and the player continuing to train with the club they are still contracted to play for. Wanyama commuting to the South West to train with Southampton, now THAT would be newsworthy.

 

No, no, no - a player's supposed to sit at home and do nothing while transfer negotiations are ongoing, or at least I think that's the passive aggressive argument they're going for...

 

Emmanual Adebayor must have been the subject 0f the most prolonged transfer negotiations of all time.

 

For him it started at birth (the prolonged transfer saga from Womb FC to World FC) .

 

It appears that Janssen is coming to Heathrow on this morning's 10.45 flight. Given that we've discussed terms already and he's turned down the attentions of Wolfsberg, PSG and the Mighty Spammers, this should be done pretty quickly (will I ever learn?).

As further proof of the veracity of the rumours it is said that Alkmaar have signed 2 players by way of replacing their man. The players in question are named Wout Weghorst and Fred Friday. Fred 'F*cking' Friday? Why aren't we signing him? He sounds great!

 

We're going for Ruby Tuesday.

 

Fred Thursday was Morse's boss in Endeavour and Joe Friday was the main character in Dragnet (very badly reprised by Dan Ackroyd). Maybe he'd be a great cop?

Why is he so keen to join us?

I'm just interested to know. Does he think he is ousting Kane? Are we a stepping stone because he wants to move to Real Madrid? Does he just want to be part of a high profile English club and on a good wedge? Prefers London to Paris?

My point is, he better know where the onion bag is for Spurs.

1 - Good young side with players that have had experience in the Eredivisie and carried their form to the Prem.

2 - I would want any striker coming to the club to believe they can do that, rather than to come accepting a second choice role.

3 - Hey, at least we'd make a good profit if that's the case.

4 - Seems to be the aspiration for most players these days.

5 - *North London to Paris, seeing as he's already rejected East

 

So, we've nearly signed a striker and we actually have signed Victor Wanyama.

In my mind (yeah, I know) that amounts to the completion of last year's business as those deals should have been done then.

So what business are we going to do for next season? I think a third striker with some real pace, maybe a wide-ish midfield player with a good goal scoring record and a deep-lying play-maker? No, I didn't think so.

 

Checking the postings today, and Spurlock is definitely suffering post-Ramadan stress disorder.

 

We've had so many disappointments with strikers. Other so called smaller clubs seem to pick them up with ease. MP has hopefully changed that.

EDIT: That doesn't read right. I hope that MP improves our success with recruiting strikers, although I suppose being able to stop other clubs signing good ones would be a handy trick.

I'm surprised there's any players to buy.I thought Man United was buying everyone to give Mourinho a winning start so he doesn't get upset......

 

According to Bild, we are keen to sign Mario Goetze from Bayern Munich. I trust Munich will take Fazio, Son and Yedlin in part-exchange?

 

When do people think we'll see outgoings? Looks like we may be trying to get the 'ins' over and done with before we sell off anyone. I think we're dead set to sign a striker, probably Janssen at this point, and maybe an attacker for the 3, and even more maybe a CB and a GK if we don't think the youth will step up. That'l probably be us done.

Consensus seems to be that we've got Vorm, Fazio, Yedlin, Mason, Carroll (though I think his contact is up so he'd be on a free I think) and maybe even Chadli to shift, depending on further incomings. What are people's thoughts on the list and when we'll start to see movement?

 

This either says that Bild have been scanning this forum for headlines, given I brought up the idea of signing Gotze several weeks ago - or maybe we are going to go the full Bielsa to try and get everyone in the team.
