This has a certain artistic quality (and I think they are both wearing riding boots):

MAN WITH WOMAN HAVING INTERCOURSE 18.50" X 14.75"

This really is a class thread, Cyc, you are to be complimented. I don't know **** from Shinola (pronounced Shy-nola, for anyone unused to this expression used frequently by oilmen from the southern states of the U.S.) about art, but some of the paintings on here are just beautiful, they really are.

For some strange reason I think of dear old, and much missed, Oldest, when I'm on this section. He would have loved this thread, and I am sure he would have awarded you a coveted 'Ode', signed by himself. They were exciting, controversial, but always interesting days on the old BBC606 thread. The extremely polite tea-drinking 'Richard' and his really beautiful colleague (what was her name?) trying so hard to keep order, banning and reinstating SupremeArkle. Bloody hell, it was a riot sometimes. Hope you're looking on Oldest, old pal, things were never quite the same when you left us.

"The Empire Of Light" - my favourite painting by Magritte. His surrealism is less overt than Dali but nevertheless provokes a real sense of mystery. The darkened street illuminated by the single lantern is in direct contrast to the bright blue sky, evoking something spooky and sinister.

And that ominous tower behind the trees on the left is rather sinister as well Oddy.

The Nightmare. Henry Fuseli. Possibly an Incubus atop the woman. It's said that the spirit often has sex with those asleep.

Is it just a water tower? It is a very sinister painting, for sure.

The more I look at the tower, the more I think I see windows. Could be just my imagination though.
