more chance of Assem and Ehab selling the club for nothing and getting jobs at the council, no way he's got the legs to compete with the GC contenders in the mountains
I knock out a 20 mile ride in about 1hr 45 mins but that's with a total elevation climb of 2200 ft into the peaks, living in Sheffield i've got no idea what it's like cycling on the flat! But i'm going to find out soon as i'm doing a charity bike ride Sheffield to Cleethorpes a week on Friday...........86 miles
I'll prob take the child seat off the back for the Cleethorpes ride too, make it slightly easier on myself!
Cycling never gets any easier... You just get faster. No point comparing speeds, it's terribly amateur... And someone is always faster. Witness cheats gong up hills drafting mopeds, to get top of the strava charts. The terrain is never he same, the wind is key, the number of people in the group, and the speed you are used to (you just fall into a habit) all matter. It's a cycle of doom to go there. Just be happy and if your legs aren't shredded you haven't tried hard enough. My worst day was a hundred miles in 30 degree plus heat with the Aubisque in the middle. I don't know how the Tour lads do it each day, and often chuck in another mountain on the stage for fun.
I am convinced some people drive around in cars with the star a enabled device to get quick times. Some of the Strava segment times in my area are quite literally unbelievable.
Not to mention saddle sore. That would kill it for me. A few days of 5 plus hours in the saddle would be too much.
Yup, NBC Sports Network has great coverage - every stage in full live, and then a 3 hour primetime show in the evenings with the last 30 minutes of each stage advert free - all commentated by Liggett and Sherwin plus Jens Voight and Christian van de Velde thrown in for good measure - very entertaining and highly knowledgeable stuff obviously - marvellous. Even my teenage daughter has become addicted.
Has something happened to Froomey - Stage 4? No sign of him in the finishers, nor the top G.C. riders.
Safely in the group. No issues. Not sure what you are looking at but he is fourth in gc. Doesn't matter where he came today if he was same time as the group.
Froome is exactly where he would expect to be, just finished in the Pelaton along with all the other main GC contenders. Tomorrow you will probably see one or two of the GC contenders trying to win the stage and gain time on their rivals.
Right, John. It's just that one set of stage/overall results missed him out, totally! Since then, I got the true picture.
This is great stage, these climbs are sorting the men from the boys. Peter Sagan has gone off the back with 30 kilometres to go, SKY and Moviestar leading the chase to close down the brake away.
Well done Cav..... 3 wins in this years tour... Passes Hinault as the second all time stage winner. Only Mercyx ahead of him and many of his wins were time trials... Brilliant... !!
Yes he is back in green for the moment, but it is likely Sagan will take it back once they start getting into the mountains, whereby Sagan will contest the sprints during the stages.
