AZ signed the supposed replacement now, so here's hoping we can tie up the Janssen deal within the next 48 hours.

As for Wijnaldum, very good player but I don't think he brings much to the side that we don't have already. If he can be got for a cheap-ish price then perhaps it's worth it but seeing as NUFC paid about £15M for him I can't see them selling for a loss after the season he had.

AZ chairman Max Huiberts is saying that Spurs have not submitted an improved offer - which directly contradicts what Janssen told the press last week. Somebody in this situation is lying, and it looks an awful lot like Huiberts is telling porkies...

What vandenPeace is saying is moot. If Levy is not happy with the terms, the deal is not happening.
Does vandenPeace now have a vandenBerahino ?? Time will tell.

The worrying thing is that this same situation/issue keeps arising and the only common variable i know of each time is....... Spurs. What are we doing during these negotiations that isn't happening for other clubs (other than paying the fee and not giving a **** which is only a select few clubs)?

Daily Express claiming we've had a £17m bid accepted for Janssen. "Sources" earlier in the week suggested terms with the player were already agreed, so if the Express is correct, I presume there's a chance he could be a Spurs player by today, or at least a medical, ready for an announcement on Friday morning at 11 am.

We are generally managing to buy better players than our rivals for a lower price so whatever we're doing we are generally doing it right!

Technically a similar thing happens to Los Ladrones with surprising regularity...

Based on some of the other prices going round because of the new TV deal I can see Gini being in the £20-25m range, but if I were Poch I wouldn't. After 38 games I honestly still can't definitively say what his best position is. He has shown glimpses of brilliance and similarly disappeared in every position he's played. In case you didn't know, his 10 goals all came at home (4 in one match) and he was invisible away. I can confidently say he didn't have one good away game last season. Yes, he will be surrounded by better players, a better manager (than McClaren), but if I were you I'd go elsewhere. I'm not actually sure where you'd play him either? Not sure where he fits into your system considering you already have Alli and Eriksen.

Bournemouth agree to pay Liverpool £15m for Jordan Ibe! That's Jordan Ibe who looks like he couldn't run and chew gum at the same time for Liverpool.

I hope Mr Levy understands how mental things are going to be in the next 2 months. I reckon we could buy options on a few players and sell those options for a 50% uplift in a matter of weeks. Now let's stop pissing about and buy some players!

Not good news for Spurs fans. :(

"AZ Alkmaar Sporting Director Rubbishes Reports of Vincent Janssen Moving to Spurs".

    http://www.90min.com/posts/3425239-...incent-janssen-moving-to-spurs?utm_source=RSS

But it looks like West Ham won't sign him.

"West Ham have failed with a late move to steal Vincent Janssen from Spurs’ grasp, according to reports from the Mirror."

    http://www.footballfancast.com/prem...ther-striker-player-desperate-for-spurs-move?

Let's hope Janssen WILL be a Spurs player before the start of next season, that's what he wants.

Prices jacked up on British players because prices are up on foreign players due to weak pound? Or just mentalism. I'm voting latter.

Perhaps that's what's really going on with the rumours that we're lining up a £25m bid for Wijnaldum...

Meanwhile, from the "What's in a name?" folder, while the Daily Express are calling various members of the AZ hierarchy a bunch of stinkin' liars, a German paper also called Express is saying we're having a look at Jonas Hector - even though, as a left back, he's a player we pretty much don't need. The only logical explanations for this are either we're going to cash in on those "Rose to City" rumours that keep resurfacing...or Levy has remembered Koln is about the only club we've had transfer negotiations with in the past couple of years that didn't rapidly become a long, drawn-out farce.

    Perhaps.
After all, we know those pesky Spammers are like Chelsky and can snatch any potential signing
from Spurs due to their immense success/prestige/wealth.

That last part explains where the Spammers are failing each and every time - or, to be slightly more accurate, why they get told to bugger off every single time.

Janssen scored twice yesterday in AZ's friendly 9-0 victory against some dross:

    Missed some easy chances, too.

Nice to see Ron Vlaar getting one, too. Missed a lot of football with a bad knee injury.

Dutch Football Correspondent Justus Dingemanse says Janssen deal done at 20m Euros and he's on his way to London for the medical. Is this bloke known to be reliable?
