These loan deals are sometimes linked to a guaranteed purchase at the end of the loan...maybe there is that...? He always did OK in France, so it might raise his stock again and give him some confidence so we can finally offload him in January or at the end of the season. Although he is getting on a bit.
All I will say if his attitude is wrong at the club, if he is sulking as he has looked like he has over the last year or so, then that must have an effect on other players then surely it is worth cutting our losses and just get rid of him at any cost.
Well i want more from the season than just surviving....I want us challenging for a top 10 position and trying for a European place and putting in a good show in the two major cups... Our fans pay good money and deserve a team that will be going for things and survival is part of that but to be just happy with that is not what we want, we want our club to be the very best we can and achieve things roof or what are the fans doing paying good money if all we are going to do is fight for survival......we need a good striker and really we need two.....
Well after 5 seasons were averaging around 10 th place . After a horrible start with Monk last season's , Guidolin averaged 1.5 points a game with what he had for 12th place . Since we've been up we've spent about 100,000,000 £ on transfers . We've sold players for about 100, 000,000 £ for a net spend of pretty well nothing . And we couldn't come up with enough money to pay Monk off when the door hit him in the arse on the way out . Everyone has their own opinions but the possibility of getting Kanu for free , Van Der Hoorne for 2 million and Fer for 4.75 million has me not only excited about how the team is coming together , but the " Swansea Way " of gem hunting is back . We won't buy any striker that isn't a bargain , no matter the price .
And that is our problem.....The strikers position is always the most expensive purchase and Bony was proof of that.....Every team needs a good striker as without that you will always struggle....Gomis is proof of that...
About Van der Hoorn, Good in the air and strong, not very good technically, I would have thought we would need both, bearing in mind we actually like to play and that stunted his career at Ajax. http://www.southwales-eveningpost.c...dutch-expert/story-29488234-detail/story.html
Joe Allen definitely heading for the exit door at Liverpool and there are three teams reported to be after him so its in Huw's hands now on whether he offers enough not just the transfer fee but the wages and length of contract, Joe is worth £15m all day long and he should get in there with that offer and force the other teams to either offer more or pull out and if they do offer more then we should pull out and look elsewhere....
Bielsa has left Lazio after two days, thinking we dodged a bullet there. Do we need Joe as we are overloaded with midfielders am more concerned that we get a decent striker
Agree with striker as a priority but there is no mention of anyone we are going for and Joe can be sold any day now.....I hope that guildo and Huw will buy a striker good enough and that will cost us. I don't trust Huw at all getting a decent striker, i have no faith in him....
Dunno if it's been mentioned elsewhere but, gomis hasn't travelled with the squad to America for its pre season tour Interesting
Well Grimes has gone, Leon is a year older, Ki was poor last year and won't be back for a while, so yes we need another cm to come into the team.
Paying 70% of Gomis wages , fuk that , pay the whole thing and keep him here . 20 million on a new striker , paying up to 11 to 14 million for Allen , pay 70 % of a strikers wages to go play somewhere else . I say NO to all of it .Keep Gomis , and let him sub in for Ayew and sign another striker in a bargain situation ., and wish Allen good luck but no thanks . No one had a great start to last season , Ki was one of them . The end of the season before he was scoring for fun . Fer , Cork and Ki can all play the position Allen plays , and frankly I see Cork as better than Allen and we got him for 5 million .
Have you not learned yet that bargain basement strikers are not good enough....I would pay £30m for a world class striker and even that wont be high enough to sign him.
We are still freeing up some money by loaning him out, which could be put to better use, even if we are still paying 70% and keeping dead wood does nothing to help the morale of the squad.
