He insinuated in one of his tweets that all was not well. Then in another tweet he said there would be a time and a place to divulge all. Why plant the seed in the first place and then say there will be a Time and a place?????? He shouldn't of come out and said what he did, it's as simple as that. He is a professional and is paid a lot of money so should refrain from writing the things he has. He is in the public eye.
I agree that Ashley has destroyed our club, but the damage that has potentially been done over the last few days because of Barton is ridiculous. Today he even said in one of his tweets that he was saying no more on nufc as it was helping no one........the penny finally dropped. He might of been in the heat of the moment when he said what he said after the Leeds game, but that is no excuse and I'm sure he regrets it now.

These sentences just don't seem to go together in rational thought. You also earlier indicated that Barton is an intellectual, were you serious? Really though, a blind giraffe could outwit Piers Morgan and hopefully it isn't merely this and the odd PR influenced Nietzsche quote that is swaying this opinion because the guy is far from being an intellectual. Great footballer yes, intellectual no. It just seems as though you've almost blinded yourself to any other option.
Barton wants out and he wants out to a better team, (I assume you agree with that seeing as you say you wouldnt hold it against him if he moved) and I don't blame him for that but I do think it goes against the concept of this intellect he supposedly has to repeatedly poke a troll like Ashley with a sharp stick if your only desire is to stay with NUFC.

Can I just take this opportunity to say that if Joey Barton deletes his Twitter, I shotgun the use of "RIP Barton's #Hash" as a headline. <ok>

At the end of the day Joey is still a Toon player. If he goes then people will make their own minds up as to whether they he was pushed or whether he jumped. If he stays, then I think everyone will back him 100%, no matter of their opinion of Joey.

Yeah, and the club put out a load of tripe, after they left, making like they were greedy t**ts, which a lot of people on this board went along with.

Joey Barton has the balls to let the fans know what's really going on, and some of you have a go at him for that. What do you want? To live in blissful ignorance, and simply accept the crap that the powers that be at NUFC choose to feed us through their puppet, Alain De Pardieu?

I thought Carroll was lying when he said he was forced out. Now Nolan, Enrique and Barton have all complained about the clubs owners and how they have been treated, I know Carroll was telling the truth. I understand why Carroll was sold, £35 million is to good to turn down but letting Barton go on a free just pisses me off as hes worth over £4 million and the club are so desperate to make money and break even but they let him go on a free to prove a point..pathetic. I dont blame him if he goes, who wants to stay at a club with Ashley in charge. By doing this to Barton its hardly going to make players want to come here is it?

There is no doubting he is an intellectual. Just listen to his interviews, and read his posts man. He is No Nile Ranger, Wayne Rooney or Rio Ferdinand. He is even on another level to Michael Owen who is a very intelligent man. Just like believe it or not, Beckham is intelligent, fluent in 3 languages.

Barton is an intelligent man, I don't think he wants to move to a better club, but wouldn't blame him if he did. I believe he is genuine in what he has posted on twitter, he wears his heart on his sleeve. He still has red mist and posts a lot of heat of the moment stuff. He wants to stay at the club and regularly voices his frustration that he can't. He isn't one to be walked all over by the fat man.

    Class <laugh>

People will believe that they were greedy, but it's no coincidence that 4 of our big players have all complained about the owners. 3 being forced out and 1 pretty much being forced out.

There's a difference though, he's a clever bloke no doubt but he's not an intellectual.

Stephen Fry is an intellectual, Stephen Hawking is an intellectual, even Morrissey is an intellectual. Joey Barton is an intelligent footballer.

Let's face it though, Crazy Frog would look like an intellectual among the likes of Nile Ranger and Wayne Rooney. And Rio Ferdinand, that ****'s banter is ****ing grim.

I'm surprised by how many people have said they have no problem with Andy Carroll! I expected to get ridiculed and criticised for that comment.

Being fluent in several languages or being smarter than Nile Ranger does not make you particularly intelligent nor an intellectual. Anyway it just seems odd to me that you have this perfect cushion to fall back into: if he stays, he is a hero and if he goes you wouldn't blame him and he is a martyr. I'm sure he is pleased with the fans and has enjoyed the time spent at NUFC, he hasn't ever had such support in his whole career so who wouldn't? But nobody who actually wanted to stay at the club would have so clearly taken the public steps that he has to make it happen in the best possible way for himself.
Anyway, we obviously won't agree on this so it is needless for us to continue to bang our heads against our respective walls! As "Arfa Tiote Colo Man Crush" says, we'll both back Barton 100% while he is in a toon shirt! <ok>

Joey is a cultured gent! Just look at his top hat...

He is an intellectual, not in the same class as Stephen Fry like, but as a person he is an intellectual. He is undoubtedly very unprofessional. And that counteracts it a fair bit, but he is an intellectual.

Also, Joey ain't doing too well on ITV anymore <laugh> Was on a winning streak a few minutes ago!

What can I say, I respect the man! :)

I hated Carroll when he left.
I wasn't happy with Jose when he first looked like going.
I was suspecting something when Nolan went.
But this is now 4 players leaving because of the owner. 3 of our best Promotion winning players and our best Premiership player. 3 top class Premiership players and our captain all gone.

I just think it all points towards the same people.
