Can play all across the back 4 apparently so could be coming in as cover for RB LB and Dummett is being moved to CB?

Also was captain of his previous club so good guy to bring in.

His best years are behind him unfortunately but solid for where we are. He is primarily a left back but can play across the back four. Suitable for the Championship so a very good signing.

He's got a reputation as a more defensively minded tough tackler, will be a change from our recent attacking fullbacks but should free up players like Ritchie and Aarons to get forward and do some real damage. Happy days

LB seems to be the obvious choice, with Anita owning RB, keep Dummett as a utility sub.

Looking like we'll have a nice solid back 4, not always a fan of attacking full backs, reminds me of when Babayaro would constantly be up the other end leaving a gaping hole at the back.

If he can play left back I'm happy. We don't have a proper one. Just a centre half who is average, and some useless French waster who hasn't progressed past League 2 standard in 3-4 years.

Athletico back in Pre-Season and Jesus is not there. He have been given permission to sort his transfer to Newcastle out today.

He must be half decent at least. I started to type his name into Google to check his career stats, and after typing Jesus the option of Jesus Gamez appeared on top just above Jesus Christ. The latter is who we needed last season, but Rafa is obviously going for the more famous option for this coming season.

He's having a medical as we speak. Deal to be announced tomorrow. Jesus modelling our new strip. For all of those fans of other clubs wondering who our new messiah would be....we've only plumped for probably the greatest and most famous - Jesus himself. You couldn't have a better model for those replica shirts!

Really Santon? I'm surprised at that - how will they take to him after his "Never Seen a Mackem in Milan" remark?

I reckon he'll end up at Palace. Pardew did rate him Windy, it was Carver who didn't and sold him. They really liked each other Santon and Pardew. I think Santon likened him to Jose at one stage <laugh> Pardew has been linked with ever since he took over at Palace and again this summer. I'd be surprised if he went to Sunderland, injuries aside he'd be a decent signing. He did well for us under Pardew, but just struggled to stay fit. Some of his defending was atrocious mind, but when on it he was decent.
