From an outsiders point of view, I think Barton's comments have being very disrespectful to your club's management. If this was in any other line of work he'd have been given his p45 a long time ago. he was warned time after time. It's his own fault and he can't blame anyone. If you were an owner of a business and someone you paid slagged you off with basically millions of people as an audience what would you do? Also, the relegation talk is ****e, there's alot of worse teams in the league than you's.

anyways, that's my take on things. enjoy the boycoutt ;)

Backhanded compliment there, cheers. You're right though, football is so different to any other profession but it doesn't give carte blanche to players using their pedestal to shout off and damage team morale and the image of the club further.

Anyone mentioning relegation at this stage is mental. We don't even know what our first 11 will be yet and already people are mentioning going down it's ridiculous. I agree, don't think we will go down. Not saying we might not be around that area at some point but don't think we will go down.

Morale is very low, players are confused, our already thin squad is losing it's best players and doesn't look like being added to. Oh and we still have **** all up front and haven't for 7 months now.

We don't know that moral is low. We have a month left of the transfer window and he haven't kicked a ball in anger yet. To suggest we will go down is very far fetched. All this stems from the Carroll and hughton affair and we finished off last season very respectably with that hanging over us. Who's to say or new signings won't be imense for us???? Relegation talk at this stage is so way off the Mark like.

The wonders of Twitter. We have Barton and Jose unhappy. Rumours of Shola unhappy... and if that is the case then we have serious issues! Ranger unhappy! Simmo unhappy! So many plaers criticised the club before they leave or after they leave. Hughton wasn't the best manager tactically but that was the start. Must have questioned Ashley over something. Our 2 top scorers from last season both forced out. Tiote has had a poor pre season, Ben Arfa is injured again. Ba can't score. We have no goalscorers. Results have been shocking. We're in a mess as bad as 2008. De Ja Vu.

It's nothing like 2008 like. You can't judge our players by pre season alone. No one knows what's going on behind the scenes at the club, it's all pure speculation. Tiote never even got a pre season with us last season yet he was a class act for us. Pre season means nothing. Judge them after we've played a few games. Jose had his head turned a long time ago. We know the dicks in charge of our club are clueless and they will continue to be that way. We need 3 more players in. It's a different picture if we get them.

Exactly. We desperately need players. Which doesn't look likely right now. We've gone from a £35m war chest to 'we are looking to bring another player in'.

Pre season is irrelevant I agree, but not when the team are playing like this. It's not even doing a lot for fitness! We're having to rest players already.

Our owner is lying and being a dick. Players are not enjoying life at the club. Fans are very disillusioned and dicussing boycotts and protests.

But what about if we lose more players than we anticipated? 29 days left of the window, and Newcastle have proved it's easier to sell than buy. Worst case scenario, in my opinion, is that we'll lose Enrique, Barton, Colocinni, Jonas and maybe even Tiote and not replace them properly, if at all. Any club in the world knows that all they have to do is flash a couple of million and they can have whatever they want.

This. We'll end up with Santa Cruz on loan along with Darron Gibson and Jonny Evans.

Hey, any team losing that amount of players will struggle, no doubt. But the players we have lost so far the have been reasons behind. I'm as frustrated as the next man but I've done the whole doom and gloom thing to death years ago. Protests don't work, we just haveto get on with it. Jose has wanted out for a while. We knew we were going to lose Barton at some point, maybe not as soon as this but it was coming. I can't seriously see anyone else leaving unless it's for stupid money. it's all ifs and buts at the minte like but if we are just going to accept that we are relegation foder now, then what's the point in supporting them. Chin up man. The season has to start before it finishes.

I doubt we'd be replacing them with relatively established Premier League players from top PL clubs. And we'll never, ever, ever be lucky enough to find another Sibierski. Without a doubt the best last minute panic buy since transfer windows were introduced.

Here's how I see the replacements, taken from a list of players who are currently unattached obviously.

    Barton - Jason Koumas
    Enrique - J Lloyd Samuel
    Coloccini - Christian Dailly
    Jonas - Giles Barnes
    Tiote - Nigel Quashie

Providing, of course, that we can afford the agent's fees and wages.

<shrug> what Barton said was right but he was wrong to say it. I wouldn't by surprised if he stayed for this season but he must take at least some of the blame for this.
