I have read stories about IRS locking up people who missed few thousand dollars in their returns. These are people who earn mid five figure sums per year not week. Statutes are like "up to Million dollar in Penalty" for missing / false returns. So the upper limit is enforced on Average Joes & Uber rich - talk about level playing System is broken.
Ain't that the truth. If you or I didn't pay our income tax, HMRC would come down like a ton of bricks over a few grand. If however you're Starbucks, Google or Amazon then they seem quite happy to not to pursue the millions that the exchequer misses out in corporation tax
