Apparently the Barnsley forum have come in with a bid for tED. QPR cant decide if we can afford what they're asking.
The 31-year-old joined Bolton on a free transfer from Swansea City in July 2011 and has gone on to make 156 appearances for the club, scoring 15 goals, but has struggled to win the admiration of supporters after years of inconsistent displays. Pratley has two years remaining on his contract at Macron Stadium and would likely depart for a nominal fee, it any at all.
The responses on this tweet by Bolton fans mirror those of the QPR fans when the news broke that Fer joined Swansea. Worrying. ( Click on the tweet to see them. )
QPR fans when they hear that we finally get rid of Leroy Fer only to try and sign Darren Pratley ... please log in to view this image
Agree Nines. I have just seen many Bolton tweets and they all basically say that they would drive him to QPR. Others show celebrations. I don't know much about him but if last seasons worst team don't want him. it sort of tells you something.
Great? And i thought we may get in 2-3 quality players? looks like we are getting rid of the high earners and replacing them with....
I admit that do not know much about Darren Pratley and am slightly concerned by the comments on the Bolton message boards. However, he was their Captain which seems to indicate that Leadership qualities (perhaps soon we will have too many ex. Captains!) and he does have experience. He seems to fall into the category of a "football pro". I reserve judgement until we see him play a few matches, as well as in what formation. I well remember how underwhelmed I was, as well as the reaction of the message boards, to the signings of Messrs. Hill and Derry. In JFH and Les we trust - or at lease we should give them the benefit of the doubt. I hope that we are buying team players and wish to build a strong team with character. Please take note of the very recent case studies of Iceland, Leciester and Wales.
I was feeling confident that we've signed a couple of captains from other clubs over the past week but after reading the above news, l might just crawl back into my corner.
I really hope that the money from the sale of Fer and Phillips will be spent wisely...hopefully to both deliver performance and results on the pitch, and to make a potential future resale profit.
Alot of rumours going round that we've bid for 22 year old Charlton midfielder Jordan Cousins. Wouldn't mind this one,he seemed to have a bit about him when I saw him play against us !
