Now we have a striker, a winger and a keeper through the door it is likely we will be moving on to defensive targets with Saylors contract expiring yesterday and Colo all but confirmed to be joining San Lorenzo. Who would your targets be? Think it'll be someone already at this level with potential. Caulker will do a good job for us in this league and has experience in the EPL. Lewis Dunk seems like a prospect and I wouldn't mind seeing him come in. The player mentioned at the Euros that we are waiting on I have a sneaky suspicion it will be a Welsh CB possibly (in order of likelyhood): Chester (27) at West Brom experianced at this level Collins (32) of West Ham not sure how many games he will get this year Or Ben Davies (24) at Tottenham - is he playing much?
Davies is more of a left back - and a bloody good one who won't fancy a step down. Collins is really solid but would he fit the profile? Unless we are looking down the experience route. Chester is a good age and didn't get much playing time last year because of the two Northern Irish lads. He'd be a good buy. Always liked him and Michael Keane as far as centre backs go.
Davies is a left back and is constantly rotated by spurs with rose. So sadly gets a lot of game time would love to have him. But way above our station
Some good options suggested there but not sure how realistic some of them are. Dunk and Keogh may be top of my list for good players I think we could get who may then make the step up. Chester, Davies will want to stay in the Prem and Caulker I'm not convinced by - he could be decent at this level but his experience in the Premiership was not wholly positive. I think there's a good chance we'll have Dummett-Mbemba-Lascelles-Anita for next season and they looked good enough for the prem at the end of last!
Keogh is the type of CB I see us buying. Experienced, senior, reliable and able to provide competition to Mbemba and Lascelles. One year left on his contract at Derby so should be available and won't break the bank.
I heard that "Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini" are hoping to win the Euros so that Rafa takes note of them. It would be "a dream come true" to move to a "massive club" with a "huge fanbase" and roll out cliches. It it what every players "dreams of" apparently.

Thing is I don't want anyone to come in and stop Lascelles and Mbemba building their CB relationship this season. I want a good back up, but not that good that they would be a starter. £7m would be a lot for a reserve player so maybe that budding partnership will be broken up?
