I wouldn't say his plan has quite failed. The primary objective of sealing a new contract might not have gone to plan, but his secondary goal of riling up the masses against the board seems to have worked perfectly.

The thing is, how many times have we been reminded that the club is a business etc. etc. etc. where is the good sense in this decision.
How can it profit the club financially to let a player leave under these circumstances?

No worries :) I very much know where you are coming from with the work issue!

Like you say there is undoubtedly more to it than any of us know and there is definitely a morale problem setting in (or already firmly established?) at the club. Like you say, who would go there? But players like Barton and Enrique with their tweets add to the negative press and are therefore doing the club harm. It is why I have always had a harsh opinion of Barton for doing it. Especially as I know he is doing it for manipulative reasons.

I'm more angry that the club once again hits the headlines. Players come and go and Barton was important. If he hasn't been replaced by dead line day then my anger will boil over but we still have a month to go for that. I was expecting a few few tweaks this season, looking more like a full 1st team over haul. Still, the mackems seem to do it every season and end up doing alright in the league. A is put on our back bone and team spirit. Looks like we need to form it from scratch again. englend out and France in as it seems.

Calaye, I'm finding it's pretty much mixed opinions on here, I'm quite surprised at the indifference.

No doubt we will be reminded of it again in the not too distant future. It's expected now. Disaster is never far away where we are concerned. We should be provided with health care with every season ticket purchase.

As a Bolton fan, everyone who I see trying to defend this decision is seen in my eyes as deluded.

He was one of your best players last season, and now the owners have told him to **** off!

You've had an awful start to the season, people are saying relegation is impossible, and that there are worse teams in the league. Those teams aren't in a ****ed situation and imo I reckon you will be in a relegation battle next season :/

Don't be so naive with your opinion. There is no one defending the decision, people are reasoning with why it happened, there is a difference, you don't know that we will be involved in a relegation battle any more than we don't know that we won't.

People are saying 'This is a good thing the club has done' when it's actually ****ing bollocks.

If he is posting **** on Twitter, force him to delete his twitter.

It's not all about twitter. Open your eyes and try and let some of what people have wrote sink in mate.

A lot of people are assuming Barton is trying to manipulate the fans by tweeting, he may be frustrated and be trying to let them know all is not well behind the scenes.

Six of one and half a dozen of the other DT, I think both sides are playing us.

It will be the fools outside the ground with the bed sheets that make the news though come match day. Protesting at the game serves no purpose. The people on the other side of the fence won't be reported on. Just more bad press. The headlines are hitting already.....toon in meltdown......toon in crisis. What crisis, what meltdown. Are arsenal in crisis or meltdown because nasri and fabregas want to leave.....of course not. The press love to dump on Newcastle. That gets my goat up more than anything.

For most clubs it has not, but are already losing the battle of staying in the premier league.
Do you see other clubs having the same situation? No, because your club is the only club to have this ****e, and the results will be affected for the worst because of what is happening behind the scenes.

This will just lower the morale for the club even more, and further push you into danger.

In theory yes, but no one knows the extent of what has gone on. May is a long way off. If you lot lose Cahill, where will you go, already lost Lee. By no means safe yourselves, and considering you took 4 points off us last season and still finished below us, your by no means a certainty to stop up.
No club going through it???? Wigan have lost the man who single handily kept them up last year.
