A bit pissed that I didn't put any money on Hiddink. He's the big market mover and was about 33/1 when I shouted him. Gutted. Would love it if he gets the job, not just because that means we will have SA, but because I think he'll do a brilliant job.
Went looking for Ladbrokes odds. They`ve got Hodgson 6/1 fav to succeed Sam if he gets the England job. Went into shock. Didn`t look any further.
Forget about what the bookies say. The bookies were spot on with the Brexit vote weren't they! And that was a 2 horse race!
lets just hope they are wrong again then, doesn't seem to be a decent pool of managers to choose from if Sam were to leave.
Eddie Howe, get him to come to a bigger club, however I don't want Sam anywhere near the England job, I expect he would want to retire in a couple of years with his reputation intact, so why would he take on the poisoned chalice that is,the England managers job.
Its the pinnacle of football management, managing your national team, mate. I don't understand why anyone in the profession wouldn't want the job tbh. Totally agree with your first bit though. I'd be over the moon with Eddie Howe!
Ambition - I believe he always wanted to be England manager - I think his stat driven little to chance approach could be a real breath of fresh air to the England set up.Though his no nonsense style would upset the faceless toothless FA backroom Thus we may be alright up north with BSA
Hmmm, not sure about Howe, though I think he's done a great job at Bournemouth - he tried it at Burnley but left for 'personal reasons'; would he be the same if we could tempt him as a replacement to BSA? Don't think Sam will get it anyhow so could be a somewhat academic discussion. Fingers crossed
I was genuinely worried yesterday with the thought of losing BSA. Defence playing well, team gelling, scoring goals, his January signings etc etc Praying they give it to Hiidink. Just sort it ASAP before it really ***** up our pre season.
Eddie Howe is a one club man, **** that. He has shown me nothing to suggest he could take us to the next level. He had success as a player at Bournemouth but didn't pull up trees anywhere else. He tried the Burnley managers job and wasn't a success there.
Yeah I would doubt his big team pedigree as he seems to be still positively developing in an almost closeted area - plus the climate in Hampshire makes it much easier to keep focused. In my view not yet ready for big club pressure His time will come
I understand the ambition bit but still feel that the England job just comes with so much crap from within the FA,the primadona players and mostly the stupid media, you've really got to want it and I suppose Sam will always wonder 'what if' should he stay with us which is what I think we all want him to do at the moment.
