Some would say Flick Drummond is representing a constituency that should be outside the UK!!

They are not here just because of markets and costs. Government provides incentives. All governments do. We obviously have skills they require and whats to stop the incentives being "upped"?

Mr Nissan, stay here and we will give you a contract for all police squad cars for the next 5 years. Mr Honda stay here and we will give you a contract for local government fleet cars for the next 5 years, Mr Toyota stay here and we will give you a contract for all national government fleet cars for 5 years.

This is something that we aren't allowed to do while in the EU because competition rules mean they aren't allowed to do this. It is one reason why we now see Skoda and BMW police cars rather than British made (not necessarily British brands) cars which are right on our doorsteps.

There are lots more cars made here. Loads of them. Jaguar is used by many at the top of the state pile but a few Jags for the VIPs is nothing more than a statement. The money is in state basics. squad cars and "fleet cars" for government funded bodies.

We can also get British companies to build government projects, manage government projects, staff government projects. It might cost more but it creates more jobs for your own economy which then benefits the country and enables government to increase incentives to these companies from the extra revenue.

Oh Impsaint, I know that a lot more cars are made here than Jaguar. I work in an industry heavily involved in the automotive sector. Nissan at approx. 550,000 cars in 2014 is by far the biggest. I just mentioned Jaguar as it is a British brand, if not a British owned car anymore.

I guessed that you were angling at the "British" brand. I maybe made it sound like a correction rather than an agreement or elaborating on what you meant. Hard to convey things on the internet without seeing me nodding my head to your post.

Juncker is a ****ing prick isn't he, the stuff he comes out with belongs in a tabloid. I voted remain and I'm not sure of one thing he did/said that helped the remain argument.

The only good thing about Juncker is when he slaps visiting politicians around the cheeks. He really is a very strange man:

He's not a great advert, it's true. Angela Merkel wants him out. That should ensure it happens.

Just a thought..... Mrs May campaigns half heartedly for 'Remain' and becomes favourite to lead the Tory Party and become PM. Mr Corbyn campaigns half heartedly and is the subject of a probable coup.
Oh and I see the junior doctors have stuck 2 fingers up at Mr Hunt. I get the feeling it's coming to the boil. Oh for an opposition that could hold this government to account.

I thought Jaguar were part of the Ford group. Maybe not, but they have a good name but can they be massed produced like the Nissan Micra
Let's hope he carries out the constituents wishes.

Indeed, though he was not alone.

When 'Dave' came back boasting about all the concessions he'd negotiated with the EU (= none really, though we'll give you an immigration holiday, maybe) I despaired as the comments coming from other EU politicians were guaranteed to rile a sizable section of the British public. Just shut up!

I can't believe all politicians don't have a big sign on their notice board saying 'Push someone, and they will push back'.

Anyway with all this car related talk isn't it about time we re-introduced the Reliant Bond Bug to a grateful world?

Just read Leadsom's blog. Um yeah she is just slightly crazy.

At OXPIP, a charity that provides therapeutic counselling for families who are struggling to cope with a new baby, the intervention is at the very earliest stage of the baby's life, when there are clearly signs that the 'bonding' that needs to take place between baby and principal carer is not happening. The baby's experiences in its first two years of life will determine the child's, and later adult's, natural reaction to emotional situations.Science shows that you can predict two thirds of future chronic criminals by behaviour seen in two year olds!!
