Waiting for Canos to consider terms so the reports say. Would be a good signing if it comes off.

He certainly looks like he has potential. The replacement for Redmond.£2.5 isn't a bad fee.

For Brentford last season: 18 Starts, and 20 sub appearances. 7 goals and 4 assists. Doesn't sound bad at all if he was playing as a Winger for them. Sounds like he's a winger who can defend, and also apparently likes to shoot from distance. Good on the ball, and likes to dribble. For £2.5, it could be great business. Even if he came off the bench to change games.

I would still like us to try and bring in that Charlton winger as well, but it's good to see us trying to get a replacement for Redmond in the bag.

In a way, he reminds me of Dani Pacheco.

Nani to Stoke is an interesting one. That could be a great signing. He's one of the only ones who's turned up for Portugal this tournament.

Canos looks like he really tries to make things happen. He should be fun to watch if we get him. A month ago he valued at 4 mil, so there may be something to the buy back option.

I'm not saying Sergi CANOS nor McGovern wouldn't be good buys, but do we really need another midfield / keeper. Surely if we sign these 2 then we've got to be looking at saying good bye to a goalkeeper / midfielder. Could Canos be a replacement for Brady ? and if so where does this leave Murphy boys?

If McGovern does come to us it would appear that Lafferty hasn't been bad mouthing the club. I really think Lafferty should be given more of a chance next season.

With Redmond and (probably) Brady leaving, our senior wide options consist of Matt Jarvis, then the Murphy's. 4 wingers/wide men would probably be about standard, so Canos and perhaps Gudmundsson joining wouldn't be overdoing it in the wide areas. I don't think it's a case of having too many players in those areas. As to where Canos joining leaves the Murphy's, I think it makes it even more likely we'll see Jacob go out on loan.

Jarvis and Josh are firstly left wingers, Canos and Gudmundsson right wingers, so there'd be reasonable balance there. We'd also have a young and experienced pairing on either wing. Of course it could be a case of Canos or Gudmunsson signing, we might not want two right wingers, but I think that's a reasonably sensible set of options. Jacob impressed in league one but hasn't been properly tested in the championship, which the other 4 have.

Just wondering if Dani Pacheco has had a word with Canos about City. If he has it will have been very positive. Loved the guy when he was with us.

On the goalkeeper front, I expect Rudd to be our #1 or be sold. Can't see him hanging around as a sub for any longer. He is now 24? so needs playing time to forward his career.

I think I read somewhere that McGovern turned down Southampton a few days a go as he wanted to be #1

I'm all for a new No.1 Ruddy is a liability what ever level we play at. I'd like to see him moved on as I'm not sure he would take well to being relegated to bench warmer. Rudd I can also only see staying because of family ties as a local lad. I can't see him being No.1 and the lad needs to play.
Would I be happy with McGovern, Kean and a journeyman 3rd choice? Maybe, But I don't know enough about McGovern to be truly happy. Maybe good enough for now before a proper investment if we got promoted.

    Bah!

I believe that both Canos and Gudmundsson can play on either side and Gudmundsson is actually left-footed, but plays on the right. He takes inswinging corners with his left foot but can cross accurately with either foot. I'd love to see them both come.
