Did anybody else watch the Panorama programme on BBC one earlier with Adrian Chiles ? He visited the West Midlands to speak to Leave voters, almost all of them cited immigration as the main reason that they voted to leave and not one mentioned the economy or trade deals. The irony is that the platitudes that were given to them about stopping European migrants coming to the UK are meaningless. Either the UK will negotiate a deal where a quota of EU migrants will come to the UK and we'll have a compromised access to the single market. Or the UK will accept free movement if it still wants unfettered access to the single market.

I didn't say they had. I simply pointed out that the Chief Constable was 'dismayed' at the dramatic increase in hate crimes since the referendum.

The astounding thing about this is that EVERYONE regardless of the way they voted should be ****ing outraged that there has been a rise in racist incidents caused by scummy **** wits who are hijacking a political argument to spread their sick hate.
Publicising racist attacks is done to draw attention to a growing problem. It stops people being complacent and let's racist ****s know that they are going to be hunted down for their crimes. Why would anyone, regardless of their view on the EU have an issue with this?

You don't seem to understand reality. The government is not going to accept uncontrolled immigration. The Foreign Affairs Select Committee thinks that the EU, being so incompetent at trade deals, wont be able to agree among themselves what they want. In that case, if we want to leave without agreeing a free trade agreement we will leave and use WTO tariffs which are an average of 3% - because we buy more than we sell we will make a lot of money from it. We will also be free to arrange trade deals with the rest of the world.

I am from a West Indian and Asian background. In my view most people get on fine. I live in SE London and things have improved massively since I was a kid in the 70s. My partner (white) has family in Penn and when we go their people seem fine with us as a mixed race family ... I don't feel tolerated tbh. I feel part of where I live and work. I mix with people from all races and find the majority of people just try to take people as they find them and treat people as they wanna be treated. My kids have a real mix of mates too.

Not digging at you in any way but if your view was right I would find life depressing.

That's a contradiction in my opinion.

How do you think Brexit will protect my children's future?

I think it is you that needs a reality check. The EU member states have already made it clear that if the UK wants full access to the single market then they will have to accept free movement. If we decide not to go down that route and use WTO tariffs then the head of the WTO has already said that the UK would have to renegotiate trade deals with all 161 WTO members in a move that would be like 'joining from scratch'. With the impact of new tariffs, he estimates that it will cost UK consumers an extra £9bn and impact negatively on UK businesses to the tune of £5.5bn.

I come from Lewisham. When I was growing up there in the late 70's and early 80's there used to be NF demos going through Lewisham. It has vastly improved since then.
