With Steve Moran in our Pompey Lad's League Sunday team and against him at school. With Clive Green (Pompey) at school. The scariest opponent was Emeka Nwajiobi. (Luton Town 80s). Played against him at university(University of Wales). He had quads as big as my waist (not anymore). My son can top me...he's played against the world's most expensive player at school in Cardiff. Made him look good!
Best XI played against in a game: GK: Phil Parkes/David James Back Four: Gary Stevens, Micky Droy, Billy Bonds, Francis Benali Midfield: Peter Taylor, Paul Ince, Neil Webb, Alan Devonshire. Forwards: Chris Waddle, Kevin Phillips
I did play in a training game with Ian Wright and Mark Bright, but didn't put them in the team as it was a behind closed doors game at the training ground. That day I knew how Ali Dia must have felt!!
Played in the same side as Peter Rodrigues for one Southampton Senior league match - highlight of his career i'm told !!
Best XI played with and against... Gk - Bialkowski Df - Martin cranie,Justin hoyte, razor Ruddock, benali Mf - Lallana, jay spearing, Liam trotter, Luke moore Fw - Vokes, mcgoldrick
Kevin Phillips used to lodge with my uncle at his first stint at saints, I played with him in my uncles back garden lol
Actually he should go in my played against XI. Destroyed our team single handedly when he was non-league.
I once took Nicky Banger's favourite snooker table and he had to wait while we finished....he was not amused!...
I played with a guy, who played with Bradley Wright Phillips. Not bad, eh? Once I dined in the same restaurant as Stephen Ward. It was the Frankie and Bennys in Brighton Marina. I had calzone, if I recall. I don't know what Stephen had, he was with his family and I didn't want to disturb him. Also, my cousin swears he bought some Peugeot 306 wheels off Kevin Phillips. So much wrong with that story, though.
I once filmed an advert at Chelsea's training ground in Cobham and spent the afternoon pinging crosses in for John Terry & Joe Cole...
I was at a boarding school in the Midlands where the Games Master was .........George Kirby!! When I was a teacher I had Paul Cook in front of me. On my travels met Phil Thompson and Jan Molby having a night out!!
