I'd be happy with him but tbh i dont want a bobby dazzler signing id like to spend the reported 100m available on 4or5 good solid players
Ours is agents BS Too old for our recruitment policy and I don't think he's at the level we require (although he is better than what we currently have)
You think? I would say he fits the midfield engine man role that Koeman used at Scousehampton (Wanyama) With Barry in my opinion looking to be the man phased out over this season, especially if Witsel comes in. Be an interesting few weeks coming up
He was awful from the moment he signed his new deal, his lack of defensive cover and tracking of runners isn't what Koeman will tolerate imo. He'll probably get a chance to show his worth, and it'll be up to him to prove he's got the desire and work rate to form part of a side that isn't the kind of half arsed defensive unit that the manager he's had for 5 years was an advocate of. I doubt he'll cut it under Koeman, but he could prove me wrong, as he has got the ability.
He doesn't have the game yet to play a more defensive role IMO. Do what Bobby did in his first season, allow him and Mirallas/Gerry a free role, stay out of the defensive third and give a great outlet.
A lot of people blamed the last man for bad tactics and poor performances from our star men. His first and then second season up to being KO out of Europe showed his was as good as anyone else playing that role in the league, just misses goals in his game IMO
He's at his best when he picks the ball up quite deep and takes players on and thus creating space imo. Defensively he's been poorly trained and allowed to ignore that aspect of the game, he's a big unit and he can tackle, he just thinks that it's someone else's job currently. I'm excited to see what the new man can do with Barkley, as he need less smoke blowing up his arse and more home truths for me.
I was never a massive fan tbh. He covered a lot of ground but often never quite had that bite and awareness of danger that the very best have in that role. I actually thought he looked a better player when he was played with more of a licence to get forward, rather than playing in the holding role.
I would have thought all that time with Moyes he would have picked that up. He has the talent to play the free role IMO, back to goal holding the ball up or as you say running at the back four. Not mature enough to play CM without two more defensive minded players.....yet.
He did mate, hence the reason he never played him centrally, if you remember he always stuck him out wide! Moyes didn't trust him centrally either deep or advanced. He wanted to make him work imo and took stick for not playing him and leaving him in the bench. I think a large part of that was his dissatisfaction with his work rate off the ball. He was only a kid then though, and now he's at the age were he should be maturing and hopefully Koeman can be the man to really bring him on. I think he'll sign a new deal this summer btw.
A senior member of Everton’s scouting set-up is to leave the club for Manchester United. Steve Brown, who held the position of first-team scouting and recruitment co-ordinator, will end a near eight year association with the Blues by moving to Old Trafford. Brown joined Everton in August 2008 from Reading and took up the role of Head of Performance Analysis. Who is this guy and is he any good?
Never heard of him, they have had some decent/goodish players through there though in the last few years, all at good prices too. With a bigger budget he may target/locate good/very good players at a slightly higher price that were just beyond Everton's reach but an actual bargain if you had the money.
