So how are our American posters celebrating tomorrow? What food should i be eating and what booze is the preferred option? Elle, Tex, the ex pats?

Got the hot dogs and the marshmallows. Hoping i can get a Key lime pie from somewhere, love that, what else?

Going to get the kids some Hershey Bars. They're starting to do Baby Ruths, Twinkies, Reeses in shops now over here.

Don't touch any of that ****e from Hershey's. They bought out Cadbury, then promptly tried to block any sale of CDM in the US, as they knew it was far better than anything they could produce.
It's been pissing down here in Ohio all day, and ridiculously cold for July. It's going to be even worse tomorrow (the 4th), so BBQing and fireworks
    will be strictly limited.
BTW, July 4th is English Thanksgiving Day for us ex-pats over here.

It's my own Independence Day. 30 years since I said goodbye to a cosy job in the corporate sector and began a new life in the unpaid community sector. Best life decision I ever made.

4th July is too close to Canada Day, July 1st, which is a national holiday here, and I always forget it ever since I retired.
Everything is closed - supermarkets, beer stores, liquor stores etc etc.
A couple of hours before the Wales vs Belgium match I realized I'd drunk my last beer the night before, and as I had a couple of mates coming round to watch the game, I sent my lad out to get some bevvies as I had told my mates not to bring owt as I'd have a stock in.
My son came back pissed off because nowt was open, my mates were pissed off because there was nowt to drink (not even cooking sherry), and I was pissed off because my mates wouldn't piss off back to their places to raid their stocks of booze. I was pissed off because the lad didn't remember it's was July first before he went out & he visited one of his mates en-route to pick up my provisions, not giving me any time to put out an emergency call to my mates who were about 5 minutes away from getting to my place.
    It was a miserable day.
I'm thinking of going back to work to help remind me of this ****ing statutory holiday every year.
I bet the Yanks don't shut down essential businesses on July 4th.

Kraft bought Mondelez (CDM). Mondelez have tried buying Hershey's with a bid of $23bn in the last few day's. Your statement of Hershey's buying CDM is incorrect, they simply produced CDM in the US under licence.

I spent Canada Day in downtown Vancouver and everything was open as usual which I thought was strange, I assumed the entire place would be shut down for the day.

You forgot about Patty. The length of time he has pretended to be in Texas must mean that he is a pretend US citizen by now.

He's not incorrect, Hershey's tried to use their license for a couple of Cadbury's products to block all imports of Cadbury's into the US.

Hersheys is absolutely vile. I don't understand how yanks eat that and think it's proper chocolate.

He is 100% incorrect in his statement 'Hershey bought out Cadbury'.

They may have tried blocking products, that's not the point I was responding too.
