Tears at bedtime? You do realise Lewis won the race right? Hamilton fans couldn't give a hoot when all said and done, he won the race.

Easy, it would have been Hamitlon' fault for forcing Rosberg out wide and making no attempt to take the corner as normal <laugh>

Let's be fair after the shat show Lewis and his car reliability put in for first few races plus some characteristic errors and poor performances Rosberg is still only 11 points ahead! Thats shocking and shows he's just not champion material - saying that he my still win the title bit will he go down as a classic racer? I don't think anyone will say yes!

Really? I'd disagree but it is only my opinion, I'm actually interested to hear other people's opinions?

Opinions on if Rosberg is champion material? Probably not, no. He's quick, but he's not particularly great in a dog fight. With the best car and a bit of luck he can easily become champion, but I doubt he'll ever rack them up in the way somebody like Vettel has. Good driver, but not a great driver.

Given an appropriately dominant car any F1 driver can win races - see for example Kovaleinen or Maldonado. Therefore they can also win championships, but this means they need to beat their teammate more often than not and that's not something Rosberg has done other than with a past it Schumacher.

He wasn't hired into a dominant Merc, it happened around him and without that fortune he'd probably have won 3-5 ish races across his career...

    Hmm…
I've read the last 15 or so comments. I knew the Rosberg / Hamilton incident would likely cause uproar here!

    My opinion:

Rosberg at fault. Not a 'racing incident' where both drivers contributed to a significant degree (65% / 35% is a rough guide to the maximum tolerance allowed for such a conclusion, although 60 / 40 is a better guideline). My opinion is that Rosberg's contribution to the collision was in excess of 95% – and even that estimation is allowing for Rosberg's position immediately prior to contact being clearly within Hamilton's range of vision – which is itself debatable. Of course, I readily admit that there will always be some element of subjectivity when opinion is involved, as occurs in the refereeing of almost all sport. Nevertheless, I firmly believe F1's stewarding is in a better state now than it has ever been before. (Remember that the current system was introduced as a control on what is or is not acceptable; a direct result of Schumacher* exploiting a precedent essentially set by Senna).

When blameworthiness of one driver can clearly be shown to be approaching 100%, the likelihood of a penalty also approaches 100%.

On the subject of penalties, it could be argued that Rosberg got off very lightly.

*In my opinion, Schumacher frequently escaped penalties even after the current system was introduced, despite the fact that he often did receive them. I believe this was a combination of the fact that he was involved in so many incidents, as well as having a lop-sided advantage from those in control of the sport. However, discussing Schumacher is really going off the point. I've only mentioned him in deference to the current system which has continued to get better since its introduction.

Right. I want to read what's been said prior to the last couple of pages…

You ought to be on Jeremy Kyle Miggins, crying about how much you hate Lewis Hamilton, so everyone can just laugh at you. There's enough salt in your post to supply all the chippies in the UK, maybe Lewis can send you some vinegar too

It's been mostly quiet other than EMSC totally forgetting the location of his poop. Still can't figure that one out..

Eh? Excuse me for interrupting the flow of the thread but what has happened to a "Well-known Member" now listed as "---"? All I see is a dot for all comments and have been excluded from being able to see this person's Profile page!

    Am I doing something wrong?

P.S. Now read Bhaji's post. Thanks. Still not making sense of this but presuming some kind of melt-down…

Maybe he's finally had enough of the hypocrisy, though as he was a Schumacher you'd think he was used to that kind of drviving and stewards looking the other way.

Oh dear. What a shame. I thought he'd become an important and thoughtful member. He seems to have been first to come up with our familiar Race Threads. If he's abandoned this place, I also hope he will quickly reconsider.

EMSC: If you're reading, come back pronto! You are valued. No idea what you said but it doesn't matter. You are a valued member of this place!

I think you need to show right after that..as you can see from that Hamilton is trying to make the corner and Rosberg is still pointed straight like he is still seeing a straight in front of him..lol

No idea what was said* but very pleased to see some intervention if things went too far.

*I'm not asking either. I'm just a bit shocked. I think it's a shame because I thought EMSC had become a very important member.

I didn't see it either. But EMSC is a long standing member and a good contributer so I do genuinely hope he'll come back and we can just pretend today never happened.

We all have bad days... Apparently he was having one today.
