I think the FA are currently installing their brand of the next wave, at least their idea of it. it's transition time after all.
The only ones who have a clue at the minute are the 3 or 4 on the recruitment team, who'll be reporting to the FA Executive. So apart from the fact that the league starts in about 6 weeks, the first qualifiers for 2018 are in September, so they've got 2 months to have a man in place if they're recruiting from abroad, and a lot less than 6 weeks if they want a PL manager.
Yes I agree it's a bit messy but I think some transparency will stop unwanted rumors -" yeah would be interested but not been asked " - that sort of message would apply to many managers . Just feel it would send a message out to the wider world with no room for idle gossip. BSA Would be portrayed as a straight talking manager in a more positive light to possible in comming players
On bbc radio this morning. Sam is the ONLY English manager being considered by the FA for the job. Hope it goes to a foreigner then.
I blame Roy Hodgson. I mean - what type of a person walks out on the team half way through a major tournament......
Noises in press media about England job and BSA - as a contingency who would you want to replace him at Sunderland ......from my experience as a Sunderland supporter this could easily happen as just when we are ready to progress ...everything goes pear shaped So as a contingency who would You want to replace him ? For starters Mr Howe at Bournemouth ?
Sam would be good for England. He takes **** and below average teams (which England are) and gets them performing above themselves. However, he has too much front about him for the suits at the FA. I don't think we would win anything with him, but we would be far less embarrassing.
Spot on QWOP - that's why I think our(Sunderland) progress may go into reverse ........ The FA muck better than we do BSA will still be here - Consecratio Excellentiae
LOL. That made me laugh Obviously the FA would have to approach SAFC rather than Sam himself. I wonder how Elis would react to such an approach. Having spunked a fortune in compensation for gash managers, I'm sure he would be more interested in keeping Sam rather than getting a few quid from the FA
Let's hope so marra, however, if an approach WAS made for Sams services (which I don't think will happen) would Ellis be able to talk him round & keep him at SAFC ??? I don't think so (hypothetically speaking)!!
He could duel it for the qualifying. Could be in a much better place to replace him if he went full time into the world cup in a few years. Surely he knows leaving us now would be very damaging. Don't think he'd leave us completely in the lurch. Half expecting one of the contracts today is a 2 years for Big Sam
