Terrific news if he can put on a bit of a show which will attract a buyer with a lucrative offer for him.
True, I'll give you that except he's usually only had to do that for the last 10 minutes of each game.
He's had a pet lip since he arrived so hopefully he has a good game and a manger somewhere gets a hard on for him. £20m would be a fair price.
Actually it's good England lost to iceland, because they'd be at the end of a 7nil drubbing tonight had they been there.
This is the reason i gave up giving a flying **** about England many years ago.Bunch of overpaid fannies in the PL. I am looking forward to the Championship, watching English players that actually give a **** about their team.!
Trouble with the England players is that they lack heart and grit. In the PL if the game is going against them then they look at the "star" foreign player to get the team out of the mess. In the England team, unfortunately, there are no "star" foreign players there to save the team.
He played alright last night. Should get him in the shop window. Problem is Champions League clubs which is where he thinks he belongs will have seen how much he blows hot and cold (mostly cold at that) and won't be intererested.
I think many from the outside looking in will see: Townsend - didn't make the England squad and sold for £13m Sissoko - Actually playing games for France (and whilst being one of the weaker members of the team he is doing alright), got to be worth at least the same amount. He will go for a few million either side of £15m. As an option from the bench he could roast many accomplished defenders, he just isn't consistent enough to be a central midfielder nor creative enough to be a winger. Seeing him in this tournament makes me think he actually could do a job for a top tier team, just a very different job to the one we have asked of him.
I've always said he can do a job for a better side than us. He just won't like it. He doesn't have a brain and is essentially just a very powerful runner. When teams tire he is ideal to bring on and stretch them or put the nail in the coffin. This is how France use him and how Blanc used him for France too. You are not going to pick him ahead of players like Payet etc, i.e players with intelligence.
To be honest I wouldn't pick him, full stop. He's simply not good enough. His second main fault (attitude is the main one for me) is his low level of technical ability, i.e. the fact he can't tackle, he can't head, he can't pass especially with his left foot and he can't kick a ball cleanly. He can run but 9 times out of 10 does nothing with it. My preferred use of him would be to sell him for as much as we can get. He shouldn't get any where near either an International team nor a Champions League team. The fact he does shows how standards have fallen.
Penfold's Adviser is onto something. Moussa Sissoko has a lot of physical ability but little technical ability and low work ethic.
