There is every chance his agent tried to tout him about, yesterday we were talking about how much it would cost us to replace him and today we carnt agree if he'd get another club on a free
I can remember every single member of our team making a mistake like that at some point, so what? I can remember our fans pushing for his inclusion in the England squad after that first season back in the top flight. I remember him scoring a wonderful goal in the cup semi and pulling Fulham apart with ease.
Ok, granted unemployed is a bit strong but there's no way if he hadn't improved during the last months of the season he would've got a deal anything like he has with us and it's galling - to me anyway - that he knew this and suddenly started performing.
There were a couple of SPL sides looking to take him loan (Hearts, Aberdeen), surely he could do a bit better than that?
Ryan Mason deal being done for 10m according to the mail. I've seen very little of him and with Spurs signing the Southampton guy who will take his place and us virtually brokering that deal was wondering if anyone had any more insight on this lad's ability.
He's a good fantasy league player. If it happens Spurs have got amazingly the better deal, spending just a few million more for the ace player with a difficult name to spell. It also raises another question - do we just rely on ex Spurs players telling their former teammates to come and sign for us?
He's pretty good, worth the money we're paying if it's true. We haven't had a bid accepted though, so those reports are premature. He's more of a playmaker type, a sort of blend between Thudd and Jake, which most of us wanted.
For the money I'd prefer Mason. Hughes has never played in the Premier League and while he is a talented lad, you won't find many 25 year old English lads playing in the Premier League available for less than £10m. Hughes is certainly more of a flair player, but if we are looking at Derby then we have to be in for Hendrick as an upgrade on Meyler.
I'd love Will Hughes here but I suspect Pearson has promised him promotion this season with Derby... On Mason, the Spurs supporters are saying they'd drive him here for the money they've asked.. http://www.spurs-web.com/spurs-news/mason-set-to-leave-in-10m-deal-to-hull/?
Remember though, we aren't as good as Spurs and the quality of player they have is more than anything we can dream of, so their expectations are higher than ours. For a club of our size though, he'd be just what we need.
I take very little notice of what team supporters say about players that are leaving them. Didn't Wonderland supporters say the same thing about Elmo, Meyler and McShane when they joined us. The rest is history.
If we're going to spend £10m on Ryan Mason, I'd rather add another £4m and get Joe Allen. Middlesbrough have been linked to Joe Allen. £4m extra makes a massive difference in the calibre of player available. I'd rather sign 2-3 quality players than pad the squad out with 6-7 average players.
I totally agree if the takeover had taken place but alas the lack of news on that leads me to believe the Allams are going to remain to **** up our season again. Therefore the purse strings are going to be tight.
He didn't seem to impress Pulis enough to get an extended run, but then that genius bought Chester and played him as a fullback for most of the season so I've no idea. If we could nab Loftus-Cheek on loan that'd be good business, I don't think Conte would be interested in him as a first team player. Jese Rodriguez is available at Real Madrid for around £8m and Munir El Hadaddi is available at Barcelona for £14m. Both talented young players who would make a difference in this league for us. Stoke had the right idea by buying Bojan Krkic, no reason we shouldn't be doing the same instead of muddling through with average players.
I thought he was at Bournemouth last season for some reason. Yeah Loftus-cheek would be decent, what happened to chibaloah (that'll be spelt wrong) he had a great season for Watford a few years ago then he's disappeared
bit of a funny one mason Started off as an attacking mid number 10 if you like for Spurs academy was all goals and assists, but seemed to be converted to a deeper role in midfield for Spurs as abit of a workhorse, his stats for kilometres ran are always sky high he runs all day, but does get dragged out of position a lot. He's ambitious in his passing he makes a lot of quick forward passes when he gets the ball but his pass completion isn't great, pretty much on par with shelves, huddlestones pass completion rates. I think he'd add more quality to what we currently have , as well as a lot of bite. He's quicker, more mobile than huddlestone and the stats say he passes as well as huddlestone but with a lot more positivity and speed sign him up
