We haven't got anyone who does what Leon does, so if we don't sign Joe, then he will have to feature, because Ki was piss poor last season.

And now it's £14m! If we had just gone in at £10m before the euros like we should have he would already be on his way. Gutted

Exactly the point myself and many others have made. And given the way Joe has played, £14million will be a bargain.
All because that tight fisted muppet wanted to save £2 million.

I really don't understand the way he works during the summer, we always seem late to deals. Does he genuinely go on holiday and there is nobody around doing business!!!!??

Although I'm worried about the takeover at least if it was done and dusted we could see if they would be more professional in transfer dealings.

Deep down, I was hoping that a deal for Joe was already done and that they were waiting until after Wales left the Euro's to announce it, which is fair enough. But it doesn't look like we've gone back in with an improved bid, yet it looks like we're about to waste £4-£5 million on Fer.

I've just done a search on google for transfer rumours etc, and I can't find anything, yet every other club are linked with players.
    Very worrying at the moment.

I agree Valley - compare our transfer activity - or lack of it with Palace, for example

I don't understand some of you at times, Huw is not making these decisions in complete isolation. The board makes decisions as a whole, they decide as a whole what happens regarding our club, get some reality for gawds sake! If you are going to blame anyone blame them all

Ki and Fer will be a huge part of the 2016-2017 season , as will Guidolin . Your " Cheap " shots at these guys disgusts me .
Allen is going to stay at Liverpool if his price is 10 million or over because no one will take him .
If he stays at Liverpool and doesn't extend his contract , we will get him dirt cheap in Jan or free next summer .
Thank god your not in charge of anything .......except banning .

What cheap shots Roof? The fact that Ki went from outstanding to piss poor in the space of 12 months? I'm not having a go at Fer, I just don't think he's good enough.

And if I was in charge, I'd have had Bony, Joe and Townsend signed up by now <whistle>

Ki being " Piss poor " ....Fer being a " Waste " .. I 'll spare me , you and anyone else the " Descriptions " of Guidolin
You and Aussie are like the " Away End " of the board at times .
Opinions are one thing , disrespect is another is all I' m saying .

I'd say what's disrespectful is the way Ki pansied around the pitch on £40-£50k a week.

But, that's for a different thread, this is about Joe.

Well seeing this thread is about Joe , and he doesn't play for us .... What a " Piss Poor " pass that led to Belgiums goal , putting us behind the 8 ball early . Thank goodness the rest were able to pull us through .
Guys like Taylor ( who is a general target around the board ) .

Aye it was a bad ball, but he made up for it by controlling the middle of the park straight after.

The irony is, us going a goal down early was the best thing that happened because we took the game by the scruff of the neck from there on.

Lot of people giving Joe Allen a lot of team credit around here .
The only team stupid enough to pay 14 million for Allen is the team trying to sell him .
Fer can play holding midfielder as good as anyone as long as he's told that that is his #1 role for the game he will step into that role nicely .
and he has multi other uses and 4.5 million ....he won't be muscled off the ball , great at set pieces .
somebody puts out that due to Wales good showing Allen price goes to 14 million and its hook , line and sinker time around here .
8 million or bye bye Joe and wait it out because " No one " will pay more IMO and if they do .... Good luck to their investment .

By January without strengthening the team we could be in ****sville again. Everybody , except you and Jenkins, knows the summer is the best time to strengthen.

Who says I don't want to strengthen ?.... I just don't want to spend stupidly and breaking our transfer record for 5 foot 6 inch Joe Allen , by 2 million ( more than Bony ) is exactly that .
Keep in mind , the later in the window you wait , the better deal you get .

Not necessarily Roof - I seem to recall Man Utd panicking and paying a stupid amount for. Fellaini
