As the board seems to be going through a 'list' phase, and as an antidote to the complaints thread, which I suspect will run forever, how about small, inconsequential things which make you think "life is good" if only for a few seconds: - a really smooth, traditional close shave - very high quality balsamic vinegar from Modena - the view from Blockley church yard in the Cotswolds on a day like today Enjoy.
OK, so this weekend I have enjoyed complaining and reading other members annoyances on the other thread..... Sorry Stan, couldn't resist
My drive home from work I glance to my right at the north sea, on a sunny day it is stunning across the salt marshes.
1. That point where a new song really strikes a chord (no pun intended) and you know you're going to enjoy listening to the song (and the album when you get it) repeatedly. 2. Warm baguette with cheese and pickle for my lunch on a Sunday.
Having just done some much required weeding in the garden watching our pair of resident Robins feasting on worms from the disturbed ground...
We had a pair nesting last year in a bit of tarpaulin next to the house. I was planning to move it but obviously couldn't then for a couple of months. They are nearly always the first birds to come and have a look when you are weeding aren't they? Very opportunistic birds.
I love it when my 8 year old daughter holds my hand when we are out for a walk. I dread the day when she won't want to anymore.
A gentle jog with bright sunshine but not too warm. The faces of my grandchildren when they see me. The winter Friday night curry with the Mrs and a good movie. Long summer evenings after a successful BBQ and chatting with friends.
