Thanks for all the comments guys - I was 6 months old when we got to the Quarter Finals in the 1958 World Cup - been a bloody long time! That said, I was lucky enough to have been at Wembley on 30 July 1966 - that was fantastic, and yes, I wanted England to win!
Please allow me to offer a belated 'Well Done!" to the Wales team and their fans. Nothing is as exciting as watching a underdog achieving new milestones. Now, if only our QPR team could follow Wales lead.
2 goals from about the only 2 times they got in the Belgian half 2nd half. Wales defended well and were effective against a Belgian side who like England, were weak in both boxes.

The clash of 2 European super powers tonight Germany v Italy forthe right to play France or Iceland in the semi......hope it's as good a game as last night's which was an absolute belter...... Wouldn't be surprised if this goes to extra time or penalties.....
Both teams at high tempo, good stuff. Really enjoying seeing how these players do the basics, no dithering around turning 360 degrees when they get the ball, lot of one and two touch passing, loads of movement in what looks like a very crowded pitch. Space will be difficult to find tonight.
50 years ago England won the World Cup, after beating Portugal in the semi-final, Eusebio and all. This time, we have Portugal in the semi-final, Ronaldo and all. Could it be that we will also face the Germans in the final? Anyone know where we can get hold of an Azerbaijanian (Russian) linesman?
Would love Italy to win this, I think they have been great in this tournament, but fear that their lack of outstanding individual quality may show tonight.
Very tactical game not a lot of space although things did open up in the last 10 minutes of that half.......hope the openness continues but probably need Germany to score the first goal otherwise if Italy score they are the masters at seeing out games.....
