I know its off-topic, but can't find the conversation in off-topic; but Manhunter - what an absolute genius film, and unbelievable soundtrack. Would recommend either to anyone without hesitation. That's a treacle-like atmosphere like no other. Loads missing on the non-bootleg version of the OST compared to what's in the film, though.
Sorry but I thought he was no more than average. Our season only turned around once Fraser turned up for duty.
And we changed to three CBs. And we replaced Pelle with Long. And we left out, at times, the under performing Tadic and Mane. And we brought in Romeu, due to Wanyama's regular suspensions. And we had back-to-back home fixtures against Watford and WBA, to help get some confidence and winning feeling back.
Forget goalkeeping, Forster is a vastly better organiser than Stek. The goalkeeper is like the composer and the defence are orchestra. Stek just waved his arms about, but Forster can really feel the music.
Fraser is far superior. Stekkers was what we needed as a back up. He was capable. We can't expect much more than that.
I wouldn't have been happy going into another season with him as backup. Remember when we had Niemi and Jonah? I suppose we were a bot spoilt then.
Yes I nearly posted that last night, but I think that's the only time I can remember us having two very good keepers.
I don't think the saves against Arsenal were down to those changes and I don't think Stek would have saved many of the shots that Fraser did in that game or others
Fraser had fewer shots to save during the clean sheet run (if I remember correctly), so I think our defence upped its game. But don't underestimate the effect of the mere presence of Forster behind them. I think the whole team was lifted by his return.
Oh on that point, I completely agree with you. Fortunately though I have never been advocating Stek as a better option to Forster. I was, effectively, advocating him as a better option to Gazzaniga. All irrelevant now though, because he's gone and we move on.
