Off Topic CAROLINE AHERNE HAS DIED OF CANCER AT 52

Always loved The Royle Family. She also co wrote Early Doors another classic.

As Mrs Merton I remember her asking George Best if he thought he would have been less thirsty if he had not been a footballer having to run around a lot.

Also remember her interviewing Debbie Magee and asking her " What first attracted you to the multi millionaire Paul Daniels"

 

Although a lot of her jokes are about his drinking, she was an alcoholic herself so it is basically banter between two alcoholics.

Never knew she was married to Peter Hook at one stage.

Sad news, she was not only a funny actress but also a great comedy writer.

 

Incredibly sad news.

I thought she was on the road to recovery, so this has come as a huge shock

Another great talent lost to that batard disease.
