Nick and Smither's I assume that you are both aware that an "Argument" isn't actually a word in that sense.
It's a debate as you said it is Smither's also Nick has used that word.

I was once told by a teacher that. " It is pointless too Debate or a least try to. When the other person/s you are debating with don't agree with you own personal views"
"It will when all sense and both sides have put their said views either good, bad or totally insane. Will usually end with with neither conceding to each other's views .
"They just agree to not agree and contine because to debate even if it doesn't solve the problem, will keep both parties happy" <doh>

I think Smithers post was an excellent one regarding the anti and pro Pulis debate. I too think aside from the FA Cup run we did appear to move backwards last season with better players. Also as regards Stoke City being among the highest premier league spenders that once again proves TP's inability to dabble in the transfer market as he mainly wasted millions on Kitson, Beattie and Tuncay and now seems to be certain to waste even more on the likes of Cole and Jerome.
We should never have sold Tunny (we need him now as we have no back up striker) and we should never have sold Lawrence as he was far better than Delap and Whelan and knew where the net was too.
I don't hate TP either he just frustrates me with his negativity and sheer bloody mindedness towards players that seem to fall foul of his wrath.
It's going to be last minute panic buying again and hopefully we won't end up with more dross!

I consider myself a very postive person but I am also realistic and pragmatic in my approach. You cant continue to revert back to an event in 2008 or 2009 that justifies decessions or defends errors in 2011 - thats like saying Hitler saved a butterfly in his youth but every event that follows is justified. Again (for the record) I have the utmost respect for the manager (something alot of users fail to acknowledge) who got us promoted and maintained our prem status in the early stages of our campaign and whilst I would personally prefer a different type of manager, I do not neccessarily think he should be sacked. My choice or preference is based on my perception of events backed with small facts like actual spend and results. I feel that these dont reflect the level of performance to date and I am prepared to debate this, and have done so on other threads! In the debates I have taken on others views (like "L") and to be fair have amended said views in certain areas! As adults we should be able to do that, and whilst we can debate perception (every person's reality) we can not debate facts - they are black and white! Points & League positions, Wins, Losses, Wages, Transfer fees, Club spend, Gate, Cup runs, not singing Delilah for 270 minutes at home are all facts - not debatable! Promised land, no one else could of got us here etc are just uthtought retorts which defeat the abilty to debate points with reason and drive people with common sence (why the fuk they call it that is beyond me becasue it aint that common on our board) into the Anti Pulis mode out of pure resentment!

I was very dissapointed to lose both Tunny and Lawrance, I think Beattie had run his course and his goals alone were worth every penny - they kept us up! Tunny and Lawrence would both be valubale players to our team and for me it was a mistake to let then go, Lawrence would provide us with wing cover and Tunny could cover the wing and play up front. After spending a fotrune on the Wilson deal, it seem money wasted to then play him a left back. If we are not going to use him in the middle of the park (his skill set) where he could add value, surely it would have made more sence to have bought a decent left back in the 1st place?

This can not have been written by a persopn with intelligence. It is utterly ill informed and just plain wrong. Pulis has worked absolute wonders for this club. Waddo you are a complete tool

You say we have performed worse with a better squad, but if we had beaten Wigan the last day of the season we would have finished 10th.

do not see your point of view?

Sorry about the length of this post...
I agree with the following comments: 1) Pulis' press conferences are often pretty dull 2) We are far too defensive away from home and that is part of the reason for a poor results 3) We should be looking to beat teams that are 'on our level' away from home 4) We shouldn't have sold Tuncay 5) We shouldn't have sold Lawrence 6) Kitson was a flop 7) We had a relatively easy run to the final last season 8) We desperately need to make new signings 9) We could retain possession better and we be more of a threat in open play if we started with Deano and Whelan in the centre 10) We need to strengthen centre midfield 11) We should not sign Cameron Jerome 12) We should look to find talent in the lower divisions 12) The atmosphere at the Brit is not as good as it was in our first Prem season 13) We should take the Europa League seriously... I think both sides of the debate share these views. However, these are mostly peripheral issues and do little to undermine the fact that we are an established Prem club, with top players, we are playing in Europe, we've reached our first ever FA Cup final, and in my opinion we have a pretty decent manager. All these things seemed unimaginable just a few short years ago.

However, with regard to facts - and I think you make an important point here about facts not being subject to debate - I would seriously question the 'fact' that we have outspent most of the teams above us in the league. I'm pretty sure the big four plus Spurs, Villa, City, Sunderland and until quite recently Everton have spent a lot more than us. I think West Ham have also spent more than us and probably a few other teams too (maybe Newcastle?)
