You seem to have some interesting characters on here, but he was talking about the Spanish Bar Fly.

That's definitely not me unfortunately. I've not been able to focus properly ever since I noticed that Pete has had the same set of glasses since 1984.

I think there was plenty of government ministers who voted Remain - for example, May, who did so for career reasons.
There were still plenty of Conservative MPs and a few Labour MPs who voted for what they believed in. I think a lot of MPs also voted for Remain because they were scared of the unknown. They would prefer a slow death by too much immigration, an EU obsessed by freedom of movement, the Euro and further integration and led by people who wanted to screw the countries of Europe for every Euro by their stupid insistence of large salaries and expenses and have all the staff travelling between Luxembourg and Strasbourg and taking their files with them for a few days of voting before returning to Luxembourg.
I remember when I decided to go self employed in the 1980s. So many people said "how can you give up a guaranteed salary for the risk of no guaranteed income?". I preferred to live on my own merits rather than live my life within the constrains of big organisations. I've enjoyed my life but it's not for everybody. Some people haven't got the confidence and prefer to accept the rule of others.

That's you getting it wrong again. Put the glass down, you know it makes sense.

I reckon there'd be more than a few raised eyebrows on our board at someone repeatedly lumping us two in the same camp. :emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Yet you decided to brag about your "internet wealth"? How come it's now nobody's business as soon as you can't provide any evidence? I know I could provide evidence if I was one of these people who went around bragging about their wealth. But then we all know that it's only people who brag about wealth that certainly don't have any wealth at all.

I see that disruption on both sides fella, and at the risk of repeating an earlier post, you wouldn't be "liking" posts that equally disrupt, but you're happy to support simply because they share your cause. I fear that I'm going round in circles. There's nobody on here that holds the moral high ground in keeping this "discussion" going without making it personal. And that fella is where I came in, and where I'll leave it, with you.

I think the media need a good hard look at themselves over all this too. They try to make the news rather than report it, and hunt sensationalist soundbites rather than balanced facts.

There're quite a few politicians that have realised that a massive part of the problem is that they're so wrapped up with internal politics, they've lost an understanding of the needs of the electorate. The more in tune ones get pushed into the background by the ones in it for self aggrandisement.

I have no idea what you're referring to. But in the grand scheme of things, I doubt either amounts to a hill of beans other than some petty point scoring. Don't sweat the petty stuff... and don't pet the sweaty stuff. It's a rule I often live by (though not always).

I meant Tory voters. We know that most Tory MPs voted Remain.

I'm going to need to see proof of the people who queried your decision to become self employed. To be honest, I suspect your employer at the time was over the moon. There's only so much dull that anyone can take, even another accountant!

    Cheers Pete.
