The best performance by an England team under Hodgson's tenure was the game against Germany back in March ... it was pretty good throughout but we moved up a gear in the last 20 minutes when Vardy and Barkley came on for Wellbeck and Lallana ... now that was against a pretty much first choice Germany side ...

.. that should have been built upon ... it wasn't .. instead Woy's reaction was more protective of Wayne Rooney's place in his team / squad than contemplating that he might just have stumbled on an effective line up ... team that day:

    England
    • 1 ButlandSubstituted forForsterat 45+1'minutes
    • 2 Clyne
    • 5 Cahill
    • 6 Smalling
    • 3 Rose
    • 4 DierBooked at 80mins
    • 8 Henderson
    • 7 LallanaSubstituted forBarkleyat 71'minutes
    • 10 Alli
    • 11 WelbeckSubstituted forVardyat 71'minutes
    • 9 Kane
... now hindsight is a wonderful thing of course ... but it is immediately apparent that the two players very much at fault for the Iceland goals were not in that team ...

Hoddle is a nut job in terms of his personal beliefs ... but IMHO he knows his football ...have enjpyed listening to his punditary because he actually knows what he is talking about and is not blinded by the glare of individual and club hype and bias .. I would welcome his appointment as long as he avoids being entrapped into talking about his religious beliefs etc...

He's been out of the loop for too long mate and seems to have become a little strange with age. No doubt he knows his footy but getting it across to players will be a problem with him.

... don't buy the out of the loop thing I'm afraid ... Ranieri was supposedly too old to come back to the Premier League ... didn't work out too badly ... you can't tell me that Hoddle wouldn't have managed that squad better than Woy tactically? ...

Hoddle wasn't too scared to make the big calls and tell established stars that they were no longer good enough to command a starting spot ... that is what England need ... he also commands the respect of the players because even the most dense would realise that he was far better than they will ever be ...

You may well be right, I think it's a risk myself. Whoever comes in needs to wipe the squad clean and start again, once he has the players he wants get a system in place and stick with it. Simple really but England have a way of complicating it.

It's been talked about on the Spurs board, Gonz. Personally, I'd like to see him given another try.

I don't think that tactically there's many better. It's just his man management I have some reservations about.

I picked Belgium even though they are missing key defensive players.

Bale is hyped up by Jordan Lukaku and Jordan believes Bale > Hazard.

No wonder Hazard likes Benteke more.

TBH - Bale is plain , one dimnesional player. Eden > Gareth any day. Call me biased. But FACT.

    Come on Belgium 3-0.

Wowww.. Wales have a huge chance now.

Jordan is dog s#!t. Belgium need 2 more to get this game.
Wales will score atleast 1 more with the Belgium Def especially from Set piece.

Need Dembele here. But Wilmots might bring Fellaini and give the game to Wales <doh>
