Have a friend in Bulgaria who says there are rumours that Dimiti Bebatov is coming to the Toon on a 1 year deal in order to help our young strikers. May be 35 but could teach our youngsters a thing or two. Anyone confirm?
Bit here. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/06/30/report-newcastle-united-in-talks-to-sign-dimitar-berbatov/
Half??? When you consider Simon "the flapper" Mong-ilet was sold for 9M, Krul has got to be worth 8M at least regardless of which division he is in as he has European experience already... No need to thank me for setting you straight - gone fishing be back Monday x
You'll still get 8-10m for Krul easy. He isn't worth it in my opinion simply because he isn't a modern keeper. Very un-dutch like too because he is useless with his feet. I wouldn't mind him leaving but equally, if he wanted to stick around that is fine too. I'm intrigued by this new keeper, looks a bit of an athlete. Being Belgian you'd hope his feet are tidy too. Its a big thing for Benitez, he has always made a big point of it, its why he liked Reina so much.
Berbatov? Not for me and I'd imagine he doesn't fit this policy we have which Benitez seems to have re-iterated. Talented of course, and Shearer was hero. But he is pretty lazy. He could teach Mitro plenty.
Apparently he was told a few years back he wasn't good enough with his feet and put some additional training sessions in during and after training and is now very competent with both. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor...ews/newcastle-united-signs-matz-sels-11542127 Re-reading it he was playing RB in training as well haha
Can't see him coming to be honest, but if he did, surely it would be in a coaching capacity only. As you say far too laid back or lazy as piss. Also l would have thought that as far as coaching was concerned, Rafa would be fully covered by now to meet the needs of the squad. But, anything can happen!
They are only buying out the 1 year that remains on his contract so I think £5m is probably about right for him.
Berbatov link has to be a load of bollocks tbf. I would rather play Mitro, Gayle, Perez or Armstrong and build for the future.
Is he ****e with his feet? I don't know I just remember seeing him for Sunderland and I couldn't see what the fuss was about
Well Krul was tipped for Koeman's Everton, however, they have just signed another Dutch keeper in Stekelenburg.
So, aside from recruiting the son of god today, we also signed this lad to the U21s squad: His name is Yasin Ben El-Mhanni, 20, and he's a winger. Great tekkers but can he do the business on the pitch? We also signed a 20 year old CB called Stuart Findlay who was released by Celtic.
