On what basis is another vote needed, just some rag-tag of items you have made up. The result was not inconclusive, it was conclusive. You are not listening to the people in the same way that the politicians did not listen. What would you say if the vote was Out again? Keep on going until you get the result you like? - now where have I heard that before? Of course, the Lisbon Treaty being forced down our throats. You come on these political threads and talk about democracy and how poor we are in terms of being politically activate - yet when there is democracy demonstrated here, you dismiss it because you don't like the answer.
Which is precisely why I tend to ignore these threads as a rule. I've had my run ins with various people over the years on various topics and it is best to leave alone methinks. I do my political fighting on other forums.
Ah, feck it! Even Nige the nazi is on record as saying a 52-48 split would warrant another referendum, even an old tory like Heseltine said so. Plus all the promises made by the brexit campaign have dissipated into nothing already. Boris the Buffoon will not wipe his own arse after himself. And okay the £ has recovered slightly as has the FTSE but, hello, Article 50 has not yet been invoked and we are not yet on our own. The ignorance, arrogance and downright I'm alright Jack attitude of people just pisses me off. I'm nowhere near as far to the left as, say, Cologne but I will say this much: not everyone who voted leave is a Nazi; but everyone who voted leave voted for a nazi. That I cannot abide.
What we know: 1) England and Wales have .voted to leave the EU 2) Scotland and Northern Ireland have voted to remain 3) The EU will not negotiate with separate parts of the UK 4) When Scotland voted on their independence from the UK the EU said that they would have to apply to rejoin the EU if their independence was successful. So, in order to satisfy the voters in all parts of the UK Allow England and Wales to have a referendum on leaving the UK. Scotland and Northern Ireland would then remain in the EU and England and Wales would have the option of rejoining as independent countries (or country) should they so choose. Result - the electorates of all the constituent parts of the UK would get what they voted for in the referendum and there would be no need to invoke Article 50.
Clearly our ignored member is a troll... he posts one liners designed to infuriate..... (Only one current poster has any affinity with him... seems to tolerate his bigotry and strange logic without reproach whilst niggling anyone else who tries to engage with him and gets irritated.... I have even half wondered whether he is a real person ... or just someone's idea of a joke. Ever since he came along he has sowed division... and no doubt sits at home enjoying what he does. I have not seen one attempt at meaningful dialogue... Very sad considering there have been real attempts here to find a way through and engage in the issues. I think if we all consider him as a troll and treat him with the attention a troll deserves. i.e. don't feed him... it puffs up the ego...
Theresa May clearly stated the result is the result and that she would expect parliament to back its previous judgement on the referendum. You cannot have a free vote then sabotage the process if you don't like the result. Any attempt would be out of the eurocrat / kremlin handbook.
I did not vote for anyone, I voted for the UK to leave the political union with the European Union. But you carry on calling people Nazi's and abusing them - whilst not answering any of the points raised. I suppose that makes you a troll as well.
I really do not understand why people think that NI would ever vote to be separate from Britain, it would never happen. They may have voted to remain as part of the political union with the EU, but they would never ever vote to leave being joined to Britain. When Article 50 is triggered, there will not be demonstrations in the streets or riots in NI. For a very large majority of people in NI, being part of Britain is far more important than being part of the EU. UK, means United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland - If NI leave the Union, then there is no UK and they would have to apply to join the EU - same as Scotland will have to as Sturgeon found out this week. But nice try NZ...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-the-papers-36679970 Some epic headlines here of the BoJO Brexecuted Game of Thrones variety....
That IS the elephant in the room Yorkie and I find it strange that many commentators and internet contributors are either not aware of the history or choose to ignore it
FTSE 100 has reached the highest level since August 2015. Sorry doom mongers the end of the world is not yet nigh.
I didn't call anyone here a nazi, I just reiterated the point that one of those spearheading the leave campaign is, in my book, very much one however he dresses it up. So the electorate have been misled and lied to by the leave campaign. I don't think for a minute Boris the Buffoon wanted to leave the EU rather be on the side of glorious failure and then run for leadership. He has been caught in the lie - several of them. As has nige the nazi. And a 52/48 split over 73% turnout is anything but conclusive. It's a mess, a right royal mess. And no, I am not rising to your last remark. I shall ignore it with the contempt it deserves.
