Centre back Joel Matip has moved to Liverpool on a free transfer. He's only 24 and has already made 259 appearances for Schalke, scoring 23 times.
They'll eventually end up worse off. The players will be itching to get away. Deeney missing the chance of CL football, Igjalo the chance of earning proper stupid money. It'll cause unrest & ultimately poor performance. The players will eventually be worth next to nowt. Offers for both players far exceeded their value which will create other pseudo values across the board. Teams coming to the transfer table late (us) will be ****ed, like football.
Watford have clearly done the sums and figured that gambling that they can find someone of his quality is not likely for the amount they'll receive. They don't have the scouting networks of a Southampton, they'd rather keep hold of their quality players. Ighalo has said before that he'd rather stay at Watford than go play in China.
We'll see. Fair play to them, it's not them creating the false market it's the idiots making the bids. It'll cost us.
They were both playing in the Championship 2 seasons ago!? And Udinese released Ighalo! All mental. If Abel smashes 15 goals in this season we'll probably see a similar offer....would we turn it down?
Ah, fair play. Like you say they're gambling. It could ultimately cost them, especially if the players turn off.
Richard Wright has left Manchester City after making 0 appearances in 4 years and earning £4m in wages. I want that job.
Spot on ^^^^^ this. Shame that someone on here cannot understand that. ++++++++++ Manchester United signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic is an interesting one. It could well be along the same lines as Falcao and how good he was in the PL. The one year contract says it all. Z.I. next stop CHINA.
Newcastle United selling Andros Townsend and bringing in Matt Ritchie as his replacement is a strange one. Townsend on his part picking Crystal Palace is another. At least it gets him back to London. I would have thought a club like Liverpool would have gone after Townsend.
It'll be a one year deal with an option to a second, where the second may well be an assistant manager job.
Crystal Palace have signed Steve Mandanda from Marseille on a three-year deal. Boca Juniors are signing Sunderland defender Santiago Vergini for £1.5m on a three-year contract.
