That Villas Boas was sent by Jose when they were both at Inter to do some of his coaching badge work with Fulham. Jose seems to have a soft spot for us - wish we could use it to take a couple of his surplus to requirements players.
Especially if any of the gossip is true that spurs are interested in Bobby then Sturridge would be welcome!
Don't think Chelsea will sell Sturridge but may be on loan. On the other hand Bendtner will fit in the club and he is young. That's only if Arsenal are selling. But all is in the sphere of imagination...
Without a doubt would take Sturridge and Hutton any day. BUT - * Chelsea have made it clear that the starting bid for Sturridge is £20m * Villa were looking at Hutton around for £4m Spurs were apparently offering Crouch plus £10m for Bobby, so that puts Bobby in the £16-18m bracket - on there evaluation. On purely maths we'd still be a bob or two short. Supply and demand, rather than maths, of course will be what matters. For starters, if Spurs want Bobby they should put up straight money - more like £21m given he has 3yrs of his contract to run - not half plus someone they want to offload. BUT, then again it's probably all just a load of old lairy 'arry.
Reading a discarded newspaper on the train home the other day, I read an interview where Sturridge was raving about the freedom to do flicks and tricks he's getting under Villas Boas. The impression I got was that VB wants to give him his chance at Chelsea and that Sturridge is very happy to stay and fight for a place this season rather than going on loan.
