Well we weren't right but it was a tough one to call. I can't believe Portugal are still going, I haven't really seen them play well yet.
Think in spells Portugal were a little better than they have been tonight. It's often a team like that that wins it. Ronaldo was the pits there mind, he just doesn't look right in his face and that, like that certain self belief and quite there. Very impressed with Sanchez and Mario, and Eliseu at left back I thought was decent. Poland had a decent tournament.
So, I'm running around with the kids after work - trying to get them here, there and everywhere; all the while avoiding all media so as not to spoil the quarter final result. I'm waiting for my daughter in the high school parking lot, I see a couple walking in the distance, suddenly the man changes direction and says, "Kurva," loud enough for me to hear. Now the wife was just the type of bird alluded to above (a slit skirt just to go out for an evening stroll). I knew then and there that Poland had lost. But after 2 minutes, I thought perhaps, I misinterpreted. Wasted 120 minutes I did.
Has anyone ever won a tournament without winning a single game in the first 90 minutes? Has anyone every got to the Semi's before without winning a game in the first 90 minutes?!
It's incredible to think that Portgual could win the Euros, in spite of Ronaldo. The way he has played this tournament, I believe Portugal would be more of a team without him in it. I've never known a player in a tournament to be so cocky and arrogant. His performances have been mainly poor and he walks around the pitch with a constant smirk on his face, as if to say 'I know I'm the star attraction here'. If his teammates have a shot instead of passing it to him, just watch his reaction. Childish little ****. I was indifferent about Ronaldo. Now I really don't like the guy because of the way he has come across in this tournament.
