Just learned a new stat from @Jimmy Squarefoot England have only won 4 games in international tournaments in the last 10 years.
And in real money? It's not good enough but since we failed to qualify for one torment under McClaren, it's about 12 games, 15 max. Nor have we lost many.
They certainly won't give us the freedom in midfield that Russia gave us. It'll be tough and it's a shame that one of the Celtic nations (that have helped light up this tournament) will have to go home. It just better not be Wales!
Can see it being fast & furious. Tackles flying in from all angles. Bit like some Championship games.
Don't think there'll be too much subtle about it mate. If I was Bale, I'd wear an extra pair of shin pads!..
Gareth Bale top scorer now, looking fierce! Great goal against Russia. Do you think Bale take Wales all the way?
An Englishman, Scotsman and Irishman at the bar. Usually there's a Welshman there too, but he's still in France! , something to do with football I am told ?
I'm already planning jolly japes ahead of the world cup ... gonna find the main bar in Moscow where the Russian ultras hang out ... walk in draped in a half-and half scarf half England half Ukraine ... then loudly proclaim "anbody fancy a Black Russian? ,,, I know I do!" ... only booking a one way flight mind ... I'm not stupid ...
On Paper England have some of the best individual players in any tournament but they have never had a good manager to mould them into a team since Alf ramsey England have now won that many tournament games since 1966 and that is bizarre and something the English FA has never got right. England have the players to chose from but they need a really good manager.....
I don't know how Iceland's win over England is given so much hype by the media. The same Iceland defeated Holland more than once in the Euro qualifiers - that is not friendly. If they can beat Portugal & Holland - why not England?
Yup, it's that arrogance that annoyed me most and had me rooting for Iceland. The disrespect shown to a team who had done excellently in qualifying and then beaten dark horses Austria and drawn with Portugal and Hungary was staggering.
Yup, Belgium are going to be ridiculously tough. There was a ray of good news when I thought Hazard wouldn't be fit but he's apparently pulled through, but at least Vermaelen and Vertonghen are out so their defence and defensive organisation will be weaker.
