Yes. I think the idea is that the manager cares about the academy and sees it as a viable source of talent. If the players are trained and developed properly, then they will make their way into the starting XI by being god enough. It's not the reverse where we throw them into the squad to save a few bucks and then hope they are good enough.
Amazing to think that we are probably already scouting and thinking about Puel's successor. Not that he will be leaving anytime soon! It's just that we constantly have a shortlist of a few names of future managers. Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.
Same, with a good young CB imported and Stephens as the fourth. Even if Puel intends to use some three CBs setups, as he did at Nice, Bertrand/Targett has proven to be a capable LCB/LWB combination.
I've got that single on vinyl somewhere My version seems a bit quicker though so we could make it work He's Winnie the Pooh Winnie the Pooh Tubby little cuddly all stuffed with fluff He's Winnie the Pooh Winnie the Pooh Willy nilly silly old bear Just need some new words.
If the crowd start singing a ****ing Winnie the Pooh tune... then I'm with Tom, what a ****ing disastrous appointment.
Peter Odemwingie singing Claude's praises on Sky... Then announces he is a free agent. He is in his car now heading south!!!

Don't get me wrong, I still need convincing he's the right man for the job but I guess it's only fair I watch him (or more accurately his players) in action.
We'll see how this goes, but at this point there's no reason for me not to choose to be enthusiastic by this appointment. Welcome saint Claude!
We're Winning with Puel Winning winning with Puel Filling our cabinet with lot of cups We're winning with Puel Winning with Puel Making Markus happy up there I really have nothing better to do tonight...
I was sceptical at first for many reasons, firstly he went from Monaco to Nice the equivalent of saints to les bleu few down the road, secondly i have a natural bias to psg as a second team ( in the 80/90's the bars in St Germain en Laye where full of saints red and white as well as psg!) Thirdly watching french football is often like watching paint dry. But after talking to my colleagues at work who are big MHSC fans and rather jealous of the appointment I am becoming very positive. He has achieved as much as money bags psg in the CL, then in his interview when he pressed for promoting the academy and using the mercato ( transfer window) wisely, I also would have had doubts about a European novice fitting in with the English style of play, that's my age how many clubs play 442 hoof ball a part from big sam's teams now, even the dinosaurs of big Sam has moved on.
